Wednesday, 12 May, 2010

Reba McEntire will name the Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Cruise Line’s upcoming 4,200-passenger newbuild, in New York City on 2 July.

NCL said that McEntire was chosen in keeping with the ship’s focus on entertainment, with onboard performances such as Blue Man Group, Cirque Dreams & Dinner, Legends in Concert and Howl at the Moon.

McEntire has sold over 55 million albums worldwide. She has had 34 number one country singles, and has won 15 American Music Awards, 12 Academy of Country Music Awards and two Grammy Awards.

NCL said that McEntire is also "an avid cruiser" who most recently sailed on the Norwegian Gem in the Mediterranean.
