Braemar Cruises

Braemar is Fred Olsen Cruises smallest ship and was the third ship to join the fleet in 2001 and apart from her annual winter Caribbean season sails from Dover to the Mediterranean and Northern Europe the rest of the year. Braemar underwent a major refit and lengthening in 2008 and now offers over eighty cabins and suites with balconies and a wider choice of onboard facilities for passengers to get the most from their cruise.

Facts & Figures

Braemar has a guest capacity of 987, a length of 537 ft. and a gross tonnage of 24,344. Her maiden voyage was the 1993 and she cruises to a speed of 19 knots/21mph. Braemar has been lengthened to add more space for her guests on-board.

Dining

The main dining areas on-board Braemar are; "Grampian Restaurant" and "Thistle Restaurant", both serving a mouth-watering menu with the finest cuisine on offer. Palms café is a less formal option and is a buffet style restaurant, so you can choose what you want to eat and when you want to eat it. For a relaxing drink amongst friends then you can choose from; "Skylark Club", "Observatory Loung", "Neptune Lounge", "Morning Light Pub", "Marquee Pool Bar", "Lido Bar" and "Coral Club".

Leisure

Braemar has lots of leisure activities to keep you busy all day long. You can play a spot of golf, jog around the promenade, take advantage of the fitness centre with classes such as; Yoga and Pilates, send your family and friends an e-postcard in the Internet Café, take a dip in the Swimming Pool or soak up the sun on the loungers, shop till you drop with jewellery, clothes and perfume on offer, give yourself some quiet time to read a book in the Library or observe the spectacular art in the Art Gallery.

Entertainment

There are plenty of bars and lounges aboard Braemar with a variety of shows and entertainment acts. "Neptune Lounge" features live shows and cabaret acts, "Braemar Room"boasts an elegant atmosphere where you can pre-order your dinner and relax amongst friends. "Observatory Lounge" is where you can have a pre-dinner drinks and awe at the extraordinary ocean views, "Lido Lounge" offers cocktails and dancing to the on-board band, "Coral Club" is home to intimate evening shows with the on-board band and ‘Morning Light Pub’ has a friendly atmosphere with comedians and live music.

Relaxation

What better way than to spend your day pampering yourself to a selection of treatments in the spa. You can choose from a selection of treatments including; massage, facials, body wraps, all with the magnificent view of the ocean ahead. There is also a hair-dresser on-board for you to get a new style or even just a trim, but it is best to book early as it is a really popular facility.

Family

Children are welcome on-board Braemar and she does offer children’s activities during the summer, but she tends to accommodate for the more mature traveller so it would be unusual for children to be on-board.

Medical & Accessibility

There is a medical centre on-board fully stocked with everything that you may need in case of an emergency and there is always a doctor and nurse on call 24 hours Braemar has a number of staterooms designed to accommodate wheelchair users.
