MSC Poesia has a distinct personality all of her own and is an elegant and stylish ship, and naturally, as with all MSC Cruises ships, showcases Italian culture throughout. In keeping with her name each spacious deck is named after a famous Italian poet whilst the wide variety of facilities and amenities will make you feel at home. There are four restaurants onboard including two main dining rooms offering traditional set dining plus a buffet restaurant and speciality Italian restaurant. Other facilities include two swimming pools, a 1,125-seat three-storey theatre, a wide choice of bars and lounges including the very popular Il Grappolo d'Oro wine bar and a Sushi bar, a Balinese-themed Aurea Spa, a Vegas-style casino, tennis court, mini-golf course and kids club facilities plus much more. In addition 80% of her staterooms have a balcony.

MSC Poesia has a guest capacity of 2,550, a length of 964ft (294m) and a gross tonnage of 89,600. Her maiden voyage was in April 2008 and she cruises along at 23 knots/26mph.

Did you know…The MSC Poesia is the first ship in the MSC Cruises fleet to be officially named outside of Italy.

Not to be missed…If you like Mexican food, you must dine at the Tex-Mex Restaurant. The food here is simply bursting with flavour.

Dining

MSC Poesia has three main restaurants, "Il Palladio" and "Le Fontane" and an à la carte restaurant, "L’Obelisco". Offering only the finest food, you’ll discover an array of Mediterranean and international cuisine in each one of these eateries. For a quick lunch, your best bet is "Villa Pompeiana". A buffet-style restaurant, here you can choose from a variety of Italian and international cuisine. If you like sushi, you’ll love "Kaito Sushi Bar". All the food here is lovingly prepared by experienced master Sushi chefs. Boasting an extensive menu, choose from sushi, sashimi, tempura and more. Another alternative is "Tex-Mex Restaurant". Reservations are required here - and there’s an extra cost to dine. If you’re a wine lover, the "Wine Bar" is where you’ll find a variety of wine, along with cheeses and ham. For a casual bite to eat, then there’s fast food eateries on-board too. Remember to leave room for the lavish midnight buffet! And there’s complimentary room service around the clock too. When it comes to drinks, on MSC Poesia you’ve plenty of bars to choose from, including "The Zebra Bar", and "Mojito Bar"

Leisure

There’s a lot to do on MSC Poesia! You can enjoy a swim in one of the outdoor Swimming Pools. There are also four relaxing Whirlpools. If you like a game of Tennis, Basketball or Shuffleboard, head to the "Sports Centre". If you’re a keen player of golf, then make sure you have a go on the ship’s Mini Golf. For a leisurely jog, there’s a Jogging Track on-board. For an invigorating work out, head to the gymnasium. With stunning views, you’ll find an array of high tech equipment here. Love shopping? Treat yourself or a loved one in the ship’s shopping area.

Entertainment

Every evening’s a sparkling affair on-board the MSC Poesia. The 1240 seat "Teatro Carlo Felice" is the ship’s grand show lounge. Expect a variety of production shows and acts. If you want to dance into the early hours, boogie on over to the futuristic "S32 Disco". You can even watch a movie on the shiprsquo;s big screen. The plush "Casino Royal" is for you if you like a gamble. If you fancy a game of cards, check out the "Card Room".

Relaxation

The "Poesia Health Centre" is the place to go for a relaxing massage and other body-pampering treatments. There’s also a "Thermal Suite" - where you’ll discover various types of steam rooms with herbal aromatherapy infusions. There’s also a Beauty Salon - why not treat yourself to a new hair-do, manicure or pedicure? If you’re in need of a relaxing read, check out the books in the Library.

Family

Little cruisers will have bags of fun, thanks to MSC Poesia’s qualified entertainment staff. Available all day, every day, they’ll entertain children and teens aged 3 – 17. And, it’s all complimentary, of course.

Medical & Accessibility

There is a qualified doctor on-board. There's also a medical centre, which is equipped for first aid and minor conditions only. You should have comprehensive travel health insurance to cover any medical treatment costs. If you're taking medication, make sure you bring an adequate supply with you. Wheelchair friendly - with wide spacious corridors - the MSC Poesia has 17 cabins available for wheelchair users. There are also 13 elevators. Guests using a wheelchair are advised to travel with someone who is able to assist them both aboard and ashore. Guests must bring wheelchairs for their own use. Only a limited amount of wheelchairs are available on board.
