Norwegian Star entered service with NCL in 2001 and is instantly recognisable by the colourful stars shooting along her hull. One of her more distinctive features are the rooftop Garden Villas which offer the ultimate in luxury living. Among the largest accommodations at sea they have three separate en-suite bedrooms, a living room, dining room and a private garden complete with hot tub, outdoor dining area and terrace.

Norwegian Star has a guest capacity of 2,240, a length of 935ft (285m) and a gross tonnage of 91,740. Her maiden voyage was in December 2006 and she cruises along at 24 knots/28mph.

Did you know…During the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, the Norwegian served as a floating hotel for 20 days.

Dining

You certainly won’t be stuck for places to dine on the Norwegian Star. You’ll discover two main restaurants: The 491-seat "Versailles" and the 334-seat "Aqua". Every course in "Versailles" is prepared by Norwegian Star’s award-winning chefs. Members of the world-famous gourmet society the Chaine des Rotisseurs, the cuisine here is exceptional. The other main restaurant, "Aqua", has a selection of healthy - yet tasty – choices. And there’s an array of alternative restaurants too. To experience authentic Japanese, Thai and Chinese cuisine, head to the "Ginza Asian Restaurant". There’s also the "Sushi Bar" and "Teppanyaki" Room here. A popular choice is "Le Bistro French Restaurant". If you’re a lover of all things French – this one’s for you. If you like Italian food, there’s "La Cucina". This is where you can order flavoursome pasta, pizzas, salads and authentic Italian desserts. For fine steaks and fresh seafood, there’s Cagney’s Steakhouse. "Blue Lagoon" is open around the clock. So, if you fancy a burger or a fast-wok dish – at whatever time – this is the place to go. The "Market Café/Kids " Café", is an indoor buffet, which offers a superb selection of family friendly international cuisine. And, there’s an additional dining area that’s perfect for the pint size crowd. If you don’t feel like venturing out of your cabin one night, then Room Service is available 24-hours a day. When it comes to places to drink, there’s "The Red Lion Pub", "Star Bar" and "Gatsby’s Champagne Bar".

Leisure

There’s plenty to do on the Norwegian Star&hellipSwim some lengths in one of the three Swimming Pools. There are also four relaxing Whirlpools - and there’s a Whirlpool just for children too. If you're sports minded, have a game of Basketball, Volleyball or Golf. For an invigorating work out, head to the "Barong Fitness Centre". Open from 6am to 11pm, there are aerobics/fitness classes offered daily too. Alternatively, hit the Jogging Track and go for a leisurely jog. Wine lover? Head down to the "Wine Cellar". There’s a wide selection of wines for you to sample and purchase. For a spot of shopping, go along to the department store "Galleria". Here you’ll find a wide selection of brand names and speciality gifts. As you can see, your cruise is going to give you plenty to write home about! The "Internet Café" is where you can email your family and friends - and browse the Internet too.

Entertainment

There’s plenty of entertainment lined up for you at the "Stardust Theatre". Here you can watch stunning Las Vegas style shows and major cabaret acts. If you feel like having an evening of dancing, go along to the ship’s nightclub "Spinnakers Lounge". You"ll also find a band or solo musician in several of the bars on the Norwegian Star. There’s something to suit every taste. And, don’t forget the cinema - you can watch recently released movies here. The glitzy "Star Club Casino" is for you if you like a gamble. Here you can play Roulette, Blackjack and Craps. If you fancy a game of cards, check out "Shuffles Card Room".

Relaxation

Fancy getting pampered whilst on your cruise? Then the "Barong Spa" is for you. You’ll find a full service beauty salon. And, there’s a wide range of treatments to relax and rejuvenate you in the spa. In need of a relaxing read? Check out the books in the Library.

Family

Planet Kids is the awesome club for the youngsters. They can get all creative by doing arts and crafts at "Doodles"…Watch their favourite movies at "Flicks"…Play on computers and games at "Clicks". And "Snoozes"has an indoor mini jungle gym and a quiet place for toddlers. Planet Kids The "Teen Club" is the cool place for teens to hang out. There’s a video wall, jukebox, football table and air hockey. And, by night, the Teen Club turns into a teen disco.

Medical & Accessibility

There's a doctor and nurse on-board - and there's a charge for their services. Please note that medical facilities are designed to provide basic medical care. A wheelchair friendly ship, Norwegian Star has 20 wheelchair accessible cabins and 12 elevators. Guests using a wheelchair need to have a capable traveling companion.
