Entering service in March 2004, Diamond Princess is the second member of Princess Cruises "Gem Class" of liners, a modified version of their "Grand Class". Although very similar to her Grand Class cousins, the main design difference is that there is no "rear spoiler" as the Skywalkers nightclub has been relocated to just behind the funnel, rather than suspended over the stern.
