The much-loved Island Escape became part of the Thomson fleet in March 2009 when Thomson Cruises completely took over the Island Cruises programme. Despite this change, the laidback onboard experience remains the same as always – relaxed, friendly and very informal. more info ›
Island Escape has a wide variety of facilities and amenities to keep the whole family amused and entertained throughout the day. Leisure facilities include a large swimming pool on the sun deck complete with a closing roof for rainy days. There is also a Spa which has a large ocean view gym, aerobics studio and sauna. You can also partake in salsa classes and fruit carving demonstrations. For kids the Palmy’s kids club offers the very best childcare and daily activities programme.
Evening entertainment is equally as diversified, be it a West End style show, cabaret or comedy act at the Ocean Theatre or game shows and live music in the Bounty Lounge. There is also a casino and an ocean view late-night disco on the top deck. As for dining, there are three restaurants to choose from including two buffet restaurants, one of which serves food 24-hours plus the speciality a la carte Oasis restaurant. After dinner there are six bars and lounges spread around the ship including an English Pub.
Island Escape has a guest capacity of 1,542, a length of 623ft and a gross tonnage of 40,132. Her maiden voyage was2nd October 1982 and she cruises at a comfortable speed of 18knots/21mph.

"The Beachcomber Restaurant" is the perfect place for a light lunch or a late night snack as it is open 24 hours. "Oasis" is a waiter service restaurant offering luxury meals such as steaks, seafood and tasty desert dishes such as double chocolate cheesecake. If you are looking for a quiet cuppa then "Café Brazil’s" the perfect place to relax and the "Sundowner" is an intimate setting where you can have pre-dinner drinks.

For those who like the keep fit Island Escape has a fully equipped gym on-board with cardio machines, free weights and there are even separate sauna rooms for men and women. You can take a dip in the Swimming Pool or just simply soak up the sun on the deck space beside it. If you want to keep in touch with family and friends back home then Island Escape has an Internet Café or you could even buy them a present from the gift shop – if you are feeling generous of course!

The Ship Shape Hair and Beauty Spa and Salon is the perfect place to indulge and unwind. With treatment rooms for massage, aromatherapy facials, manicures, pedicures and hair styling, you could spend an entire day in this place simply focusing on you. The library is the perfect place to unwind with a fresh cup of coffee and a good book.
Palmy’s is the children’s entertainment on-board, with a full programmed activity full of imaginative and creative play, interactive games and classes, plus, the teens will just love the arcade which is full of video games
Island Escape has a fully-equipped medical centre and is home to the on-board doctor, but we would advise you bring any medical supplies if you need them. There are specialist cabins on-board the ship, which are fully accommodating for wheelchair users, please let the admin team know before your cruise.
