New Carnival ship to sail the Mediterranean

Tuesday, 19 January, 2010

Carnival Cruise Lines will return to Europe in 2011, with the new 3,690-passenger Carnival Magic.

The ship will debut with a schedule of seven, nine and 12-day Mediterranean cruises operating a round-trip from Barcelona from May to October 2011.

The return will also mark Carnival’s first time homeporting a ship in Barcelona. The seven-day cruises will feature Monte Carlo, Monaco, Livorno, Rome (Civitavecchia), Naples and Messina, Italy.

The nine-day sailings will add calls at Marseilles, France (a maiden call for Carnival) and Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The 12-day sailings will feature Dubrovnik, Croatia, and an overnight in Venice.
