We have taken a deep-dive into the highlights on-board Anthem of the Seas, and taken insight from the perspective of a mini cruiser called Maddie, aged 10, who documented her time on-board an Anthem of the Seas, British Isles sailing!

Day 1 – First Impressions and Activities

Launched in 2015, Anthem of the Seas is the second member of the Quantum Class ships and holds a guest capacity of 4905 passengers and 1500 crew members*. “When I arrived to get on the ship I was super shocked on how big it was!”, Maddie, mini cruiser.

“The first thing we did was go and get lunch at the Windjammer Marketplace buffet on the 14th deck! You could get pizza, pasta, salad, chips and a lot more yummy foods!”. Anthem of the Seas has a wide range of dining options for a small bite to eat or a more informal sit down meal with additional options such as Johnny Rockets, Sorrento’s Pizza, Cafe Promenade and others!

“After that we went to the North Star Bar, where you can watch the North star go up and down!”. The North Star provides passengers with a 360-degree view of the ocean or destination, hovering at 100 metres above sea level, an incredibly unique way to take in your surroundings!

There are many other unique entertainment experiences on-board Royal Caribbean Cruises, and Anthem of the Seas has many available, from FlowRider surf simulator and dodgems, to archery and an arcade, there are plenty of options to let the kids release some energy! “We also booked me into the kids club where there was different age groups! You could book for all of the other days on-board as well so we booked me in for different times on different days!”.

Day 2 – Shopping and Formal Night

“The next day we went and explored all the shops! The ship even has its own merchandise shop! I then went to kids club for 2 hours or maybe a bit longer and it was amazing! After that we all went to the Harry Potter quiz in the music hall.” Retail therapy is a must on-board Anthem of the Seas, or maybe you just want to browse the latest designer labels or gift/toy shops on-board. The Music Hall provides entertainment throughout the day for guests such as themed quizzes of an evening and live music going into the night, it is the perfect place to unwind with the family alongside your favourite drink!

Anthem of the Seas also has a wide range of international food options and formal dining locations which children are welcome in such as Jamie’s Italian, Izumi and Wonderland, which our mini cruiser really enjoyed! Once you “brush” the menu at Wonderland, you’ll get to choose dishes based on five natural elements — Earth, Sea, Fire, Ice and Sun, it is an incredible interactive dining experience for everyone and extremely popular with the little ones!

“Tonight it was formal night so we dressed up nice and fancy! We then went for tea in the specialty restaurant called Wonderland! The theme was Alice in wonderland and it was amazing!”

Day 5 – Dodgems and Pool Day

“Today I went in the pool for a bit with my friend. We then went on bumper cars together and it was a blast! The carts went really fast and it was very safe! We then went back in the pool. We then went for tea at the restaurant at chops grille and I never had an empty glass of water!”

On-board Anthem there is a spacious pool-deck to soak up the sun or savour the shade on complimentary loungers while listening to live music or playing with family/friends.

Day 7 – Two70 and Jamie’s Italian

“On day 7 me and my friend went to the Two70 and watched the movie Soul and it was really good and then we went to the pool and while we were there I got a massive ice cream that was probably a foot long! After that we headed back to the cabin and got ready for tea at Jamie’s Italian. We went to Jamie’s Italian and there was a few shows after that we had booked to go to so we went.” The Two70 is an open area living room with panoramic views through windows two decks high. By night, the lights go down, the windows become screens and the space comes alive with aerialists, robots and other entertainment!

Day 8 – Climbing Wall and RipCord iFLY

If your child has an adventurous side this ship is ideal, with other entertainment such as a climbing wall, trapeze school and RipCord by iFLY, an indoor skydiving experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by Maddie as she highlighted, “On day 8 me and my friend went on the climbing wall and then we walked around the ship taking photos of everything. It took us a long long time but at 5:10pm me and my friend were booked in to do indoor skydiving on the ship! It was amazing! You were always safe because the instructor was holding onto you so you didn’t go blast off!”

Overall, our mini cruiser really enjoyed her time on-board Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas! With such a diverse selection of dining and entertainment options to chose from your kids won’t want to leave the ship!
