Celebrity Cruises

With the demand of solo travelling growing, Celebrity Cruises have introduced a new wave of solo travel accommodations. Some of Celebrity Edge’s staterooms are designed just for passengers travelling alone, offering the same comfortable and luxurious amenities as standard rooms. These staterooms also offer their own private balcony, thanks to the innovative Infinite Veranda which opens up your room at the touch of a button.

Celebrity Apex - Infinite Balcony

Single Staterooms (available on-board Celebrity Edge & Celebrity Apex)

This accommodation option is perfect for those looking to explore on their own. It measures 131 square feet and the Infinite Veranda opens up an additional 45 square feet of living space when in use. The stateroom boasts a queen sized bed, well-appointed and closed-off bathroom and a stylish seating area.

Cruise & Maritime Voyages

Marco Polo - Cruise & Maritime

Cruise & Maritime offers single cabins across all of its ships, as well as a number of benefits for those cruising solo. Not only do solo travellers have their own cabins, ranging from Inner Single to Standard Ocean View. The number of these cabins varies on each ship, between eight to 14, so you will need to be quick when booking a solo cruise with this cruise line.

Inner Single (Available fleetwide)

This stateroom has a bathroom with shower & WC, wardrobes, drawer space, dressing table, TV, hairdryer, music console and stretch to an average size of 100 sq ft.

Standard Single Ocean View (Available fleetwide)

As well as the same facilties as the Inner Single, the Ocean View also boasts a window where you can watch the passing seascapes. These rooms are slightly larger, measuring an average size of 129 sq ft.

Standard Plus Single Ocean View (Available on-board Columbus and Vasco da Gama)

This stateroom is even larger than the standard Ocean View, measuring an average of 188 sq ft. It also comes with ample hanging and storage space; fridge; flat-screen television and a picture window. There is also a Superior Ocean View on-board selected ships.

Superior Plus Single Balcony (Available on-board Vasco da Gama)

This room is only available on-board Vasco da Gama. Located midship on deck 9, the Superior Plus Single Balcony Stateroom offers the benefit of a private balcony to solo travellers. This is alongside en suite facilities, whirlpool bath with shower plus ample storage space.

Cunard

Single stateroom - Cunard cruise line

The single staterooms on-board Cunard ships are all placed in a central location, offering easy access to some of the more popular public spaces, as well as a spacious retreat to get away from it all. Each of the three ships offer both Britannia Single Oceanview and Britannia Single Inside.

Britannia Single Inside (Available fleetwide)

Single Inside staterooms provide spacious accommodation including a bed with a generous width, bathroom with a shower and plenty of storage space in the wardrobe. You can also enjoy all the luxuries of the Britannia experience, including having a table reserved in the Britannia Restaurant – one of the most glamorous venues on-board Cunard.

Britannia Single Oceanview (Available fleetwide)

Single Ocean staterooms include all of the same as the Inside, as well as a window to endure all of the magical views of the passing ocean and ports of call.

Fred. Olsen

Fred. Olsen - Black Watch cruise ship

Fred. Olsen offers the best place for solo cruisers to meet like-minded travellers and explore exciting destinations, with fantastic single supplement deals on a selection of Fred. Olsen sailings. There are a few staterooms on offer across the fleet for solo travellers, including Single Interior Room, Single Ocean View and Single Balcony Suite.

Single Interior Room (Available fleetwide)

These rooms are approximately 130 sq feet, alongside 24-hour room service and a bathroom with a shower.

Single Ocean View (Available fleetwide)

Complete with all of the above as an Interior, the Single Ocean View also has a porthole window from which you can enjoy watching the world go by! These rooms are typically 140 sq ft in size. There are also Single Superior Ocean View staterooms on-board selected ships which are slightly larger at 160 sq ft in size.

Single Superior Balcony (Available on-board Braemar, Boudicca and Black Watch)

A step up from Ocean View, this room is around 140 sq ft in size but also boasts a balcony as well as a bathroom with a shower and 24-hour room service.

Single Balcony Suite (Available fleetwide)

Measuring 200 sq ft, this room is ideal for that little added luxury on a solo cruise. The suite offers a bedroom, as well as a sitting area and balcony. The bathroom features either a bath and/or shower.

Holland American Line

Single cabin on-board Holland America

Holland America Line offers single cabins on-board both Nieuw Statendam and Koningsdam, with the Ocean View Single stateroom being the choice for most.

Ocean View Single (Available on-board Nieuw Statendam and Koningsdam)

This stateroom is perfect for those travelling solo, offering a full-size Signature Mariner’s Dream™ bed with plush Euro-top mattress as well as a shower with premium massage head; modern amenities and an ocean view. The room measures between 127-172 sq ft depending on ship and location.

MSC Cruises

Studio cabin - MSC Cruises

MSC Cruises offers a studio accommodation for the solo traveller on-board selected ships such as MSC Virtuosa, MSC Grandiosa, MSC Bellissima and MSC Meraviglia.

Interior Studio (Available on-board MSC Virtuosa, Grandiosa, Bellissima and Meraviglia)

Available when booked with the Bella Experience, the Interior Studio offers a comfortable single bed, relaxing armchair, interactive TV, phone, safe and minibar, as well as a bathroom with a shower, vanity area and hairdryer. It also includes Zoe, your virtual personal cruise assistant. The room itself measures an average of 12 sq m.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Epic - Studio Stateroom

Norwegian Cruise Line offers their own award-winning Studios which are specifically designed and priced for solo travellers. These are available on-board Norwegian Escape, Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Epic and Pride of America.

Studio (Norwegian Escape, Bliss, Breakaway, Getaway, Epic and Pride of America)

The rooms measure up to 100 sq ft, with a TV, safe, hairdryer and room service available including options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The room also offers private keycard acces to the Studio Lounge – which is the perfect place to spread out, enjoy a drink, read a book, watch TV and meet your fellow solo travellers. You can also enjoy complimentary coffee, espresso and snacks throughout the day in the lounge (though this isn’t available on-board Pride of America).

P&O Cruises

Single Cabin - P&O Cruises

P&O Cruises has a range of single cabins which are available for solo travellers to book on-board selected ships. These range from a Single Inside Cabin, Single Sea View Cabin and a Single Balcony Cabin.

Single Inside Cabin (Available on-board Arcadia, Azura, Britannia, Iona and Ventura)

Measuring around 134 sq ft, the Single Inside Cabins are perfect as an economical way to travel for solo passengers. With a bed, dressing table, bathroom and wardrobe, you have everything you could need on your P&O Cruise.

Single Sea View Cabin (Available on-board Aurora, Azura and Ventura)

The Sea View Cabins are ideal for those who are looking for great value and a chance to see the world from their window. These are well designed and measure approximately 150 sq ft.

Single Balcony Cabin (Available on-board Arcadia, Aurora, Britannia and Iona)

This cabin measures an average of 179 sq ft, with patio style doors opening out to your own private balcony area.

Royal Caribbean

Studio accommodation - Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean offers studio staterooms for solo travellers on-board a range of ships across the fleet. These vary from Interior to Oceanview, or even those with a virtual balcony.

Studio Interior (Available on-board Anthem, Adventure, Brilliance, Harmony, Jewel, Mariner, Ovation, Quantum, Radiance and Serenade of the Seas)

The Studio Interior offers a great place for solo travellers to relax and unwind, with these staterooms measuring up to 96 sq ft,

Studio Virtual Balcony (Available on-board Anthem, Harmony, Ovation and Quantum of the Seas)

Offering similar benefits to the Interior but with a virtual window to gaze upon the world outside!

Studio Ocean View (Available on-board Harmony of the Seas)

This stateroom measures an average of 96 sq ft, and offer the best views for those travelling solo. 

Studio Ocean View Balcony (Available on-board Anthem, Quantum and Ovation of the Seas)

If you’re looking for your own slice of outdoor paradise, this cabin measures around 119 sq ft, with the addition of 55 sq ft for the balcony.

Saga Cruises

Each of the three ships in the Saga Ocean fleet offer staterooms for solo travellers, with Spirit of Discovery offering more than 100 on-board! These range from Single with Balcony, Deluxe Single, Superior Single, Outside and Inside.

Inside (Available on-board Saga Sapphire)

The Inside rooms still offer a fantastic range of amenities such as dressing table, wardrobe, flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, 24-hour room service and fresh fruit.

Outside (Available on-board Saga Sapphire)

Offering all the amenities of the Inside stateroom, the Outside also includes with a window or a porthole with a fantastic chance to view the world outside as you cruise.

Single with Balcony (Available on-board Spirit of Adventure and Spirit of Discovery)

Spirit of Discovery offers 109 single cabins, all of which have a balcony and measuring 85% the size of a standard twin or double cabin. These rooms are spacious, at 184 sq ft and offer 24-hour room service; complimentary WiFi; bathrobes and slippers; double bed; private bathroom with shower and more! There is also the option for Superior and Deluxe options.

Single Suite with Balcony (Available on-board Spirit of Adventure and Spirit of Discovery)

The suite offers pure indulgence with even more space and your own private balcony to enjoy the views. Virgin Voyages is a revolutionary new cruise line, with Scarlet Lady debuting as their first cruise ship this year. On-board, the cruise line offers two cabin types for solo travellers – the Seaview and the Insider.

Insider (Available on-board Scarlet Lady)

Available for up to four people but just as good for one, the Insider offers between 105-177 sq ft of space to fully relax and unwind on-board.

Seaview (Available on-board Scarlet Lady)

Offering nautically-inspired decor, a super large single bed and enough space to stretch out, the Seaview is between 130-190 sq ft of your own to enjoy the sea views from your porthole window.

    Hello everyone, I am a 58 year young and active single person who is looking for an around 7-day cruise. I would like a nicer ship and if possible nicer ports with more exciting advangers. Any advice
