As the capital city of Barbados, Bridgetown is a thriving city with lots to see, discover and explore. Bridgetown Port lies on the southwest coast of Barbados in Carlisle Bay and is renowned for scuba diving, friendly locals and outstanding white-sugar beaches. One noticeable attraction is The Lord Nelson Statue which lies in National Heroes Square in honour of the national heroes of Barbados. So whether you want to shop till your heart's content, explore caves and historical buildings or simply just relax on the beach, you are sure to have a fantastic time at Bridgetown. The main street of Bridgetown is Broad Street and is the best place to find duty free shops, banks, department outlets, restaurants, cafes and bars. Pelican Village situated just outside the city is a shopping village offering a variety of glass art, textiles, handmade leather footwear, plus arts and crafts or you will find local produce at the open air market.
