\r \tLa Romana is the third largest city situated in the Dominican Republic on the south eastern coast. La Romana is extremely picturesque with palm trees, white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. Whilst visiting La Romana you can visit the largest handmade cigar factory in the world - Tabacalera de Garcia, go diving and snorkelling in the Caribbean Sea, explore the markets where you can find yourself a bargain or discover the history of the island in the Regional Museum of Archaeology. Whatever you decide to do, you will not be disappointed that you visited this stunning port of call.\r \r \tLa Romana is the perfect place to purchase a souvenir or gift with plenty of shops, boutiques and market stalls. The boutiques are where you can buy unique clothes and accessories and the market stalls are the perfect place to sample the local produce with fresh fish, cheese, fruit and veg and wine. There's a variety of leather shops selling bags, wallets, shoes, coats and jackets and for something a little more unique then you can buy amber and larimar jewels from most souvenir shops.\r \r \tThe local currency is the Dominican Peso.
