Cannes Cruises

One of the best-known cities of the French Riviera, Cannes is the place to be. A party port, Cannes's marina is packed with flash yachts, flamboyant cars and a shopping scene that's bursting with all the designer names. And, not forgetting, Cannes is the setting for the annual film festival too. Away from all the glamour, you'll discover Le Suquet (the old town). With its cobbled streets, traditional architecture and breath taking views, it seems a world away from the glitziness of the marina. Other places worth a visit include The Tower and Chapel of St Anne House and the Musée de la Castre. And, just half a mile off shore is the island Île Sainte-Marguerite. Famous for its fortress prison, the Man in the Iron Mask was held here.

To do a spot of Souvenir shopping, head to the shops in Le Suquet (the old town) - it's the perfect place to pick up a souvenir or two. La Croisette (the ultra-glamorous part of Cannes) has an array of international designer shops. It's a shopaholic's paradise.

The local currency is the Euro. Cannes is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+1).
