The town of Motril is located on the south coast of Spain in the province of Grenada. Situated midway between the resorts of Malaga and Almeria, Motril is also the largest town on the Costa tropical. During your time here you can soak up the sun on one of Motril's beaches, such as ‘Playa Poniente' and ‘Playa Granada' or take in the lively atmosphere at Motril's marina. Popular attractions include the ‘Sanctuary of Nuestra Senora de la Cabeza' - a former Moorish palace and ‘Casa de Las Palmas' – a 16th Century Sugar Mill. And, just a 40 minute drive away is Granada, which is home to the famous ‘Alhambra Palace', ‘Generalife Gardens' and the ‘Hamman Arabic baths'.
In Motril's main shopping area you'll find stores like Benetton and Mango. Motril is also home to a number of stores selling souvenirs, local crafts, and food. Arabic-style handcrafted items are very popular. Granada, a 40 minute drive away, is where more shopping opportunities await. You'll discover an Arabic-style souq here. Wooden crafts and pipes are among the popular purchases here.
