More than 1,000 miles long, the Inside Passage is the longest protected waterway in the world – stretching from Puget Sound in Washington State to Skagway in Alaska. A magical journey, the Inside Passage should be re-named the enchanting passage. With its huge glaciers, lush rainforests and misty blue fjords, you won't want to miss a thing whilst sailing through one of the most stunning parts of Alaska. One of the many highlights of this journey has got to be the ‘Hubbard Glacier' – it's the perfect opportunity to experience the majesty of a glacier up close. Popular activities include wildlife viewing, kayaking and glacier watching. Cruises through the Inside Passage generally stop in four major destinations – Juneau, Skagway, Sitka, and Ketchikan. Other stops on your itinerary may include Anchorage, Icy Strait, Prince Rupert, Denali National Park, Haines, Glacier Bay, and Vancouver, British Columbia and Canada.
As you'll stop by at a number of destinations, the shops vary on the port of call. For instance In Ketchikan you'll find jewellery stores and souvenir shops; a whole host of shopping opportunities – from shopping malls, department stores to boutiques in Juneau; quaint gift shops in Skagway; and boutiques, stores and shops in Sitka – where you can purchase Russian items such as nesting dolls and other Russian collectibles.
The currency in the Inside Passage is the Panamanian balboa (PAB). Limon Bay is 6 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT -6).
