The other two main streets are ‘Via Rome' and ‘Via Maqueda' and are both home to a selection of shops selling a full mixture of souvenirs and gifts. ‘Palermo' is home to markets such as ‘La Vucciria', ‘Mercato di Capo' and ‘Ballaro'. It is here that you can sample freshly made Italian food and purchase hand-crafted souvenirs and leather goods.
The local currency is the Euro. Palermo is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich meantime (GMT +2).
