Palermo Cruises

Palermo is the capital city of the island of Sicily and situated in southern Italy. The city boasts history, culture, architecture, fine cuisine and superb Mediterranean weather. Palermo is a popular destination and with a stunning coastline, palm trees and panoramic views, it's not hard to see why. Whilst in Palermo you can; stroll along Via Vittorio Emmanuelle where you will pass historical buildings, statues and fountains, take advantage of one of the many markets in the city or take a bus to Monreale the cathedral where you can see panoramic views of the city. Whatever you decide to do, you will have a fabulous time in this historical Italian city.

‘Via della Liberta' is where you can pick up designer clothes, jewellery and handbags. The other two main streets are ‘Via Rome' and ‘Via Maqueda' and are both home to a selection of shops selling a full mixture of souvenirs and gifts. ‘Palermo' is home to markets such as ‘La Vucciria', ‘Mercato di Capo' and ‘Ballaro'. It is here that you can sample freshly made Italian food and purchase hand-crafted souvenirs and leather goods.

The local currency is the Euro. Palermo is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich meantime (GMT +2).
