Rarotonga Cruises

The most populated island in the Cook Islands, Rarotonga's rugged volcanic beauty and tropical lagoons is what sets it apart from the rest. With narrow sandy beaches circling the island, it's a little slice of paradise. To come up close with a variety of tropical fish and corals, there's the opportunity to go snorkelling in the surrounding calm waters. With lush green mountains in the centre of Rarotonga, there's an array of scenic attractions too, including the needle shaped rock, ‘Te Rua Manga' and ‘Wigmore Falls'. To delve into the Cook Islands rich history and culture head to ‘Cook Islands Cultural Village'.

Black pearls are Rorotonga's local produce – making them the perfect souvenir. In the town, you'll discover a number of souvenir and jewellery shops selling these pearls. The market in ‘Avarua' is a popular attraction in Rarotonga - open every day except Sunday. You'll find everything from brightly coloured sarongs, palm fibre hats to tropical fruits and fresh fish here.

The local currency is the New Zealand dollar (NZD). Rarotonga is 10 hours behind Greenwich meantime (GMT -10).
