Travemunde is located at the mouth of the river Trave in Lubeck Bay, Germany. Travemunde is the gateway to Lubeck, but you can also stay in port if you want a day relaxing at the beach. If you are visiting Lubeck then one of the main attractions here is Holstentor, a museum which boasts a medieval building with two Gothic style towers at either side and is home to a whole host of artefacts and historical displays. The old town centre is where you will find all the unusual boutiques, shops and flea markets, you can take a stroll along the waterfront for marvelous panoramic views out to sea, or you can visit Niederegger which is a place that produces Lubeck's world famous marzipan.
You can find shopping around the centre or in the old town of Lubeck where you will be able to purchase souvenirs such as; clothing, perfume, jewellery, handicrafts, paintings, sculptures, ornaments and of course – marzipan.
The currency here is the Euro (EUR). Lubeck is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich meantime (GMT+1).
