Travemunde is located at the mouth of the river Trave in Lubeck Bay, Germany. Travemunde is the gateway to Lubeck, but you can also stay in port if you want a day relaxing at the beach. If you are visiting Lubeck then one of the main attractions here is Holstentor, a museum which boasts a medieval building with two Gothic style towers at either side and is home to a whole host of artefacts and historical displays. The old town centre is where you will find all the unusual boutiques, shops and flea markets, you can take a stroll along the waterfront for marvelous panoramic views out to sea, or you can visit Niederegger which is a place that produces Lubeck's world famous marzipan.
