Ms Maasdam entered service with Holland America in late 1993 and was the second of four smaller S-Class ships now operating in the fleet, having been preceded by ms Statendam and followed by ms Ryndam and ms Veendam.
Designed to carry fewer guests and offer more personal space than other ships in her class, she offers an intimate journey with a personalised service.

In a cosy, coffee house environment, the Explorations Café serves coffee and pastries. You can also expect cappuccinos, espressos and complimentary ice cream during certain hours of the day, and there are even hot hors d oeuvres in all the bars.
MS Maasdam has lots of activities for you to choose from. You can head to the fully equipped fitness centre and enjoy a vigorous work out or even make the most of the ships aerobics area.
Sports enthusiasts will love a game of tennis or basketball, or if you prefer to take it easy then she has two whirlpools to relax in and two swimming pools to enjoy at your will.
If you fancy learning a new skill then head down to the Culinary Arts Centre in which you’ll find cooking demonstrations led by the ships master chefs. And if like most you enjoy a spot of shopping then make sure you give the Shopping Arcade, perfect for presents and souvenirs.
After you have enjoyed your evening meal you will be able to find a whole host of entertainment. The Rembrandt Show Lounge is the place to see cabarets, dancers, comedians and illusionists. If you want to dance the night away then the Crow’s Nest is perfect for just that.
There is even an on board cinema showing all the latest films, of if you’d prefer to just unwind with a cocktail amongst friends then the Piano Bar is ideal.
There’s a wide variety of bars and lounges, there’s something to suit every taste. Whether it’s a lively or relaxed atmosphere, you’ll find it on MS Maasdam.
You can immerse in complete luxury at the Greenhouse Spa with plenty of treatments to choose from. Featuring indulgent beauty and wellness rituals, here you can enjoy a revitalising facial, a rejuvenating hot stone massage or a steam in the thermal suite.
There’s also a Beauty Salon - it’s the perfect excuse to get your hair and nails done for the special evenings ahead on your cruise. Or if you forgot your favourite book during your cruise then take a trip to the well-stocked library.
The on board kids area is called Club Hal and this is the place to find age appropriate programs for youngsters aged 3 to 12. The Loft is designed exclusively for teens (13 - 17). It’s the cool place to hang out and make new friends.
Medical & Accessibility
MS Maasdam has an on-board Medical Centre staffed by doctors and nurses. The ship’s Medical Centre is well equipped to handle most emergencies and medical procedures.
A wheelchair friendly ship, there are six wheelchair accessible cabins and eight elevators. Guests using a wheelchair need to have a capable traveling companion.
