A fantastic addition to the Hurtigruten fleet, Fridtjof Nansen is one of the cruise line’s next generation of expedition ships. She is named after the Norwegian explorer and Noble Peace Prize laureate and pays homage to the historical roots of Norwegian polar expeditions throughout. The ship is currently under construction, but it has been confirmed that the ship features Hurtigruten’s battery hybrid powered propulsion system and is built for the next generation of adventure travel.
On-board, Scandinavian materials are mixed with relaxed interior design to make you feel at home, with plenty to see and experience to make your sailing entertaining, informative and unforgettable.
While sailing on-board Fridtjof Nansen, you can explore the passing worlds with custom-built expedition equipment including a fleet of Blueye underwater drones which can be used to explore beneath the surface, as well as kayaks and large inflatable Zodiacs.
The ship also features a Wellness area with panoramic sauna for the ultimate relaxation, as well as a gym. Visit the pool deck for a chance to take a dip in the infinity pool, Jacuzzis or just enjoy a drink at the pool bar.
Fridtjof Nansen also features the Young Exporers’ Programme which is a complimentary, year-round programme for guests aged seven to 13 years. Unless sailing to Antarctica, there are no age restrictions on-board. When sailing to Antarctica, Hurtigruten does not accept children under five.
