MS Lofoten

Ideal for exploration cruising, MS Lofoten offers a peaceful environment where you can recharge after a day spent getting to the heart of some glorious destinations. She isn’t stocked with a huge array of leisure facilities, nor does she provide glitzy entertainment, but rather she is cosy, welcoming and she offers a charming and nostalgic look into traditional cruising.

Dining on-board is prepared using locally-sourced, fresh ingredients, while the lounges serve as the ideal place to grab a drink and swap tales of your travels with like-minded guests. Meanwhile the panoramic decks give you incredible views as you pass through some of the most wonderful scenery the world has to offer.

dining hurtigruten

Hurtigruten boasts one of the first vegan menus at sea, boasting an inventive and tasty selection of dishes from breakfast right through to dinner. Due to the size of Lofoten, there is only one main dining venue on-board. Here, you can choose from a selection of delicious buffet-style dishes across breakfast and lunch, including Norwegian specialities as well as international cuisine. At dinner, enjoy a three-course meal including grilled fish, roast chicken and beef dishes. There is also a café which serves sandwiches and hot drinks.

acom o

Although comfortable and modernised, MS Lofoten’s on-board facilities and amenities are simple and not excessively luxurious. She offers a choice of Polar Inside and Polar Outside cabins, each of which includes private bathrooms, additional berths with convertible sofas and an overall cosy atmosphere.

lofoten docked

With the ship’s emphasis on the scenic journey, the leisure facilities are minimal on-board. You can head to the Sun Deck to enjoy the dramatic landscapes as you sail into harbour or make your way to the bar and lounge area to socialise with like-minded travellers. The focus on-board is on relaxation rather than the live entertainment, though in some instances, musical entertainment and informal lectures are offered on parts of the voyage, where culturally relevant.
