MS Midnatsol Reviews

This cruise itinerary was the best I have done so far! I had the opportunity to go to the Norwegian Fjords in March. This was a perfect time to go as I was able to the Northern lights which is an amazing sight. I went husky riding through the snow which was an experience never to forget. Highly recommend this excursion to anyone - FANTASTIC! Just remember to pack your winter woollies as it is so cold.

I will always remember the spectacular scenery that I saw on this voyage it was beautiful.

This is not your typical cruise line as it transports customers from Northern Norway to Southern Norway. The cabins are basic but clean and for all the time you spend in them it does the job. The prices for their cruises are not the cheapest but it is not about the cruise liner but about the experience that you will have.

If you looking to do something a bit different than your normal Mediterranean itinerary then this company is the one for you!

If you are looking for a cruise with a difference give these guys a go, forget the show lounges and pampering but get to see the real wildlife and unspoilt sights of the arctic and northern lights.

Great excursions and we had an expert speaker on-board who pointed out all the interesting sights and unusual wildlife it was like cruising with David Attenborough.

Top tip - take a portable dvd and some films for in the cabin, we bought one from argos and its been on 3 hurtigruten cruises with us!

MS Midnatsol – we picked Hurtigruten for the itinerary more than anything. We flew to Bergen and joined her there – our cabin did the job for the 10 nights and we enjoyed the ports of call up the Norwegian Coast. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble and we met some great friends too.

I just wanted to say what an amazing trip that we had with Hurtigruten in March to Norway. The stunning scenery took my breath away, it was just fantastic. We went dog sledding and saw The Northern Lights which was unbelievable!

The ship itself is not your normal cruise ship as they take passengers from North to South Norway and back with customers’ cars, but the food and cleanness was 2nd to none. We had an inside cabin it was small but done the job as we were only in it to sleep and get ready. The ship hold 1000 passengers which meant it could go through the fjords which many of the larger ships cannot do.

We got off in one port and done an excursion and then met the ship at another port further along.

If you want to experience more of Norway in a more relaxed atmosphere then look no further!

I have just returned from a unbelievable cruise and just thought I would share my experience with you!

My husband and myself just back from Hurtigruten on the Midnatsol cruising around Norway.

At this time of the year it is the best time to go as it is a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights.

The food onboard the ship was very good and the standard of the cabins were basic but clean. You do not spend much time in them as it is only somewhere you be sleep in. You will be too busy doing your shore excursions.

My favourite excursion was dog sledging in the snow at night and saw the amazing northern lights. It was such a dramatic scene when the sky turned a emerald shade of green. We ate reindeer stew, chocolate brownies in a wigwam. This will stay with me for a very long time.

The entertainment at night a man playing on a keyboard at the bar. It was very relaxed as we had only a couple of drinks at night and then headed to bed. The one thing I must say the drinks compared to any other cruise line were quite expensive.

I am glad we went with Hurtigruten as we had so many stops in various places as they sail close to land. This is not your normal cruise liner with casinos, broadway entertainment and rock climbing walls. They are all about ports of call and the excursions. I would definitely recommend anyone who is looking for something a bit different.
