Dining

Hurtigruten boasts one of the first vegan menus at sea, boasting an inventive and tasty selection of dishes from breakfast right through to dinner. The main dining room aboard the ship is called Torget and this is the place where you will be able to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menus are carefully selected and prepared from fresh ingredients and local produce, to ensure you thoroughly enjoy your dining experience. Alternatively, you can enjoy Arctic fine dining in Kysten, bistro dining in Brygga and delicious sweet treats in Multe where ice cream and baked goods are served.

Activities

Enjoy the company of the ship’s expedition team, who offer lectures, presentations and activities on-board for an exciting and educational journey. Each sailing offers a different topic or focus, depending on the regions visited, with the team arranging programmes throughout the day and night for you to enjoy. The fitness centre on-board MS Nordkapp also has everything you need for a good work out with state-of-the-art equipment. You can also relax in the sauna or visit the hot tubs for some peaceful relaxation.

Hurtigruten does not allow children under five to travel to Antarctica, with no other age restrictions elsewhere. MS Nordkapp does not openly cater to younger audiences, so bear this in mind if you’re looking to travel with family.

MS Nordkapp Reviews

Brian Chadha

star rating

The MS Nordkapp was a very good ship to sail from Tromso to Kirkenes. The ship was very attractive and well equipped. The cabins were quite small but very adequate. There was not much choice of food but we had requested vegetarian which was great and well presented. The crew were very accommodating and friendly. You do need to wrap up on this itinerary but the ship was warm. The dress code is casual which is very relaxing. The highlight of the cruise was the snowmobiling and dog sledging.

Myself and a group of friends went to Norway and cruised from Bergen – Tromso.
There was loads of snow and it was bitterly cold but a fantastic trip. Highlight was dog sledding!

The Nordkapp is a comfy cosy sort of ship with a couple of large lounges for people to have a drink and talk over their day and experiences.
Its not glitzy and glamorous, you need to be warm and comfy on this trip!!
Cabins are comfy, not luxurious but not expected for this as its all about the itinerary.
Food was very good on board and the service was excellent.
The ship only takes 600 people so very friendly and lots of different nationalities.
Overall a very good trip to see a lovely part of the world.
