MS Trollfjord

If you want to explore and your priority on holiday is your destination, MS Trollfjord is ideal. Indeed she is named for one of the most wonderful views you’ll enjoy in Northern Europe, and her décor is suitably picturesque to match. Above all she is comfortable and welcoming, serving as the perfect base to unwind after a day of adventure.

The bar on the top deck has incredible views, while the fitness centre and sauna let you unwind with a workout or a more relaxing treatment. There’s a Jacuzzi too, should you wish to soothe sore legs following a particularly energetic excursion. Meanwhile the main restaurant will also help you recharge, with fresh local produce, while the café serves snacks and drinks 24 hours a day.

In addition to this incredible dining experience, you will find that the dining room boasts large windows so you can enjoy panoramic views whilst enjoying your meal. Activities

Ms Trollfjord offers a whole host of leisure activities to suit every taste. The expedition team are superb at offering in-depth lectures, presentations and activities for you – all of which is catered specifically to the destinations included in your itinerary. If you’re an active cruiser, there is a fitness centre on-board with state-of-the-art equipment, as well as a sauna for soothing your muscles afterwards. For the ultimate relaxation, there is even a Jacuzzi on-board where you can enjoy the night sky as you soak up the bubbles.

Hurtigruten does not allow children under five to travel to Antarctica, with no other age restrictions elsewhere. There are not many kids’ areas on-board, just a play corner on MS Trollfjord, so bear this in mind if you’re looking to travel with family. .

MS Trollfjord Reviews

Loraine Coulston

star rating

I had wanted to visit Norway in search of the Northern Lights since seeing Joanna Lumley on TV a couple of years ago. It was with much excitement we booked our excursions Husky dog sledding and the village on the Lofoten Islands were particular favourites. The alcohol prices on-board were as expensive as we had expected however we enjoyed a few drams to warm us in our cabin! The accommodation was very comfortable and spotless as all things Scandinavian appear to be. As we sailed along the coast calling in sometimes just for a few minutes and at others for half a day we were fascinated by the birds eye view of life in these often tiny communities. The food on-board was excellent although we were pleased we had opted for the full board trip as lunch and a drink would have been over £20 per person. We also pre paid a coffee and tea package which were good value. We did get several glimpses of the Lights although often very hazy rather than the fireworks spectacular on perceived TV but we could still feel the magic as we watched in awe. We spent a night at the Ice Hotel at the end of the trip it was one of the most crazy places I have ever paid to stay but I would not have missed it for the world .

I am already planning when we can do a Classic Voyage in the summer to see all of the places in an entirely different light.

We had decided to try a cruise not really water people more into scenic destinations. Why did it take us so long we travelled to Norway with hurtigruten on the Ms Trollfjord. This ship is ideal for those who want to see the real working parts of Norway. Was a nice size ship food was lovely and meet some really nice people onboard.
