Limassol itself has a magnificent castle which is medieval in origin and believed to be the site where Richard the Lionheart was married. There's a quaint square around the castle, as well as a charming old town where you can relax in one the laid-back cafes and browse the interesting shops.
For something more relaxing, there are excursions available within the city that give you time to unwind and explore at your own pace, with excellent shopping available should this interest you. Some cruise lines also organise traditional lunches so you can experience real Cypriot cuisine for a truly authentic taste of life on the island.

You can head into the Troodos Mountains for a scenic tour either on foot or as part of a jeep safari, where you can either take a guided trek through the forests or pay a visit to the resort of Troodos itself, where you can shop for souvenirs at a leisurely pace.
If you have an interest in winemaking, then make sure to book an excursion that incorporates Omodos. A quaint township surrounded by vineyards, it makes for a fascinating excursion.
