Delhi is a city that bridges two different worlds. Old Delhi, once the capital of Islamic India, is a labyrinth of narrow lanes lined with crumbling havelis and formidable mosques.
In contrast, the imperial city of New Delhi, created by the British Raj, is composed of spacious, tree-lined avenues and imposing government buildings. Delhi has been the seat of power for several rulers and many empires for about a millennium.
Enjoy full-day guided tour of the Old Delhi and New Delhi, visiting Jama Masjid Mosque, Red Fort and Raj Ghat (Gandhi's cremation site) and a rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk.
Drive past Kotla Firoze Shah, and visit to Agrasen ki Baoli.
Depart Delhi and head towards Agra and check in to your hotel for a one-night stay.
Agra is a city in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh state and home to the iconic Taj Mahal, a mausoleum built for the Mughal ruler Shah Jahan’s wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth in 1631. Set behind a reflecting pool inside a courtyard defined by four minarets, the imposing main building features a massive dome and intricately carved white marble inlaid with precious stones.
Visit the majestic Taj Mahal later in the afternoon and also Agra Fort.
Agra Fort was built by Akbar in Red Sandstone when he was through with the consolidation of his power after accession to power in 1654, Agra Fort worked both as a military strategic point as well as the royal residence.
Head from Agra to Jaipur and check in to your hotel for a two-night stay.
Jaipur holds the distinction of being the first planned city of India. The story goes that in 1876, the Prince of Wales visited India on a tour. Since the colour pink was symbolic of hospitality, Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur painted the entire city pink. The pink that colours the city makes for a marvellous spectacle to behold.
Begin your day with a visit to Amber, the ancient capital of the Rajput Empire, with its magnificent palaces and temples dominated by the stronghold of Amber Fort. Make the final part of the climb by elephant or jeep to marvel at the Royal Halls and the stupendous views from the ramparts.
Your afternoon will then include visits to Hawa Mahal (also known as The Palace of the Winds), the City Palace (a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Rajput architecture, founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, the founder of Jaipur) and Jantar Mantar (considered to be the largest of the five astronomical observatories built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh).
