Our Experience on-board Celebrity Beyond!

Cruise118.com colleagues were fortunate enough to sail on-board the third ship in Celebrity Cruises’ Edge-class fleet, Celebrity Beyond! Hailed as a place where every day gives way to the extraordinary, you have space to lose yourself in love and luxury. On Celebrity Beyond, guests will find a wide range of dining experiences, speciality restaurants, bars, wellness experiences including the AquaClass experience, bringing together the modern luxury experience Celebrity Cruises offers. 

Our colleagues informed us about their favourite experiences on-board, as well as some helpful hints and tips for anyone thinking about booking their next sailing on Celebrity Beyond!

Embarkation and Boarding Process

The embarkation process was extremely straightforward! There were not many COVID protocols to take into account due to travel regulations having recently relaxed further, however some were still in place to protect their staff and customers as much as possible!

We were required to take an observed lateral flow test before our cruise departure date in which must result negative, and also had to ensure we had proof of vaccination status to show when asked for it.

Prior to our embarkation date we had a time slot to arrive at the ship, however, we turned up early and we were allowed to embark a lot earlier. The process was flawless and smooth. From check in, we were on-board within 10 minutes!

All protocols, requirements and muster drill information was all listed on the Celebrity Cruises App for easy access. Hand sanitising stations were located throughout the ship and all of the crew wore masks. Every door had a motion sensor, so there was no need to turn a handle, therefore we all felt very safe! 

First Impressions of Celebrity Beyond

Our first impressions of Celebrity Beyond was a special one for this class of ship. Crew members were clapping us on-board, leading us straight into the amazing atrium! The ship is extremely beautiful, very modern and luxurious in style in terms of dining available, décor and furniture. Beyond is larger than her other sister ships, which in turn provides more space and room, especially on the pool deck and also in the grand plaza. No matter where you are on the ship you have something stunning to look at or appreciate. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to help throughout the sailing. 

Accommodation

Celebrate in style and luxury in the wide range of staterooms, balconies, and suites available. The rooms on the Celebrity Beyond are strategically placed to match your needs. AquaClass guests will find their staterooms placed close to The Spa with aromatherapy diffusers and infinite balconies to bring The Spa to you. 

We were lucky enough to stay in a variety of balcony cabins, including the infinite veranda cabin which boasts an amazing concept of having a conservatory style balcony, ensuring you get the best views, whatever the weather. Offering the light and airy décor we’ve come to expect from Celebrity Cruises, imagine enjoying a coffee on your infinite veranda balcony whilst taking in the stunning views as you approach your port.

With enough space for two guests and plenty of storage, guests can tailor their lighting requirements by controlling the lights, balcony and blinds via the Celebrity Cruises on their smart device, another feature which highlights the new luxury guests can enjoy on-board.

Dining on Celebrity Beyond

Dining with Celebrity Cruises is a highlight for many fans of the cruise line and it’s not hard to see why! Starting with the main buffet restaurant, variety is the flavour of life here whether you fancy a traditional roast dinner or dipping your tastebuds in exciting cuisines from around the world, it makes for a brilliant casual dining option.

Normandie offers French cuisine at its finest, with classics such as French Onion soup and regional dishes such as Alsatian potato and Gruyere tart, it’s the perfect venue to spend an evening with friends and family enjoying delectable food.

Tuscan Grille brings bold flavours to the fore, incorporating rustic Italian fare with a contemporary and elegant twist. We highly recommend for those of you who love seafood, try the lobster tail from this venue, it’s phenomenal.

Cosmopolitan was one of our favourite dining venues offering contemporary twists on classic dishes, the oxtail here is fantastic and one of our favourite dishes on-board. With staff providing a friendly and attentive service, it’s one of those simple touches that elevates the experience as a whole.

Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud

Chef Daniel Boulud introduces his first signature restaurant at sea where travel is the inspiration accompanied by the most awarded wine collection at sea! Finish up the experience with a farewell treat you’ll receive as a gift at the end of your experience. 

Bars and Lounges

Going beyond, the cruise expands on Celebrity’s impressive collection of bars and lounges making your fleet favourites even more extraordinary.  

Enjoy the beauty of the seas within the two-storey Sunset Bar redesigned for the Celebrity Beyond which provides stunning views to relax alongside great drinks and amazing views making it perfect for any occasion! Or take a trip to the World Class Bar which uses only the freshest ingredients and finest spirits all prepared by expert mixologists to suit your needs! 

Entertainment

You’ll be spoilt for choice for entertainment options whilst on-board Celebrity Beyond. With the top deck turning into a more musical venue in the late afternoon with bands performing as you relax by the pool.

The Martini Bar on deck three delivers all the flair we’ve come to expect from Celebrity Cruises with live music and a light show from the chandelier above, bartenders performing moves with drinks and cocktail shakers, it transforms a pre-dinner tipple into an occasion. But Celebrity Beyond takes entertainment one step further focusing on immersive experiences for guests, whether that’s in the theatre located on deck 5 with an LED backdrop for the stage, adding visuals to the performances on stage, or the Elements show which provides an even more immersive experience, as balls of smoke and shapes coming down that land on the people in the theatre really making you feel part of the show.

Beauty, Fitness & Wellness 

The Spa at Beyond introduces an array of new firsts in beauty fitness, and wellness. Starting from the heart of The Spa the SEA Thermal Suite is luxury for your senses with eight distinct spaces to help your own your road to wellness. Enjoy destination inspired treatments alongside industry leading technology to give you the most advanced experience.

After your trip to The Spa, you can visit the Kérastase Institute for innovative in-salon treatments with personalised service! The Kérastase Hair Diagnostics tool will analyse the condition of your hair, allowing for targeted recommendations for treatments. 

Overall, we had a fantastic time on-board! Whether you’re new to cruising or new to cruising with Celebrity Cruises, there’s every bit of luxury steeped throughout the ship with a modern and contemporary feel throughout. We recommend checking out the layout and activities via the app, prior to embarkation where you’ll also be able to make reservations for shows.
