On the whole, drinks on cruise ships cost about the same as they do in high street bars, with some variation between the cruise lines. However, none of them charge extortionate amounts for drinks, so you don’t have to worry about being a ‘captive market’ on-board.  Some drinks are in fact very reasonable, which can be a pleasant surprise, particularly to anyone who lives in London or is used to the prices you’ll find there!

Your cruise ship drinks menu may be priced in either Pounds, Dollars or Euros, depending on the cruise line and destination. For ease, we’ve converted all the prices to Pounds, and priced up a round of drinks on-board. As you’ll see, how much change you’ll get from £20 varies from £8 to nothing.

The price of a round of drinks

Pint of beer Glass of wine Spirit and mixer Soft drink Total for the round
Fred.Olsen Cruises £3.70 £4.05 £3.80 85p £12.40
P&O Cruises £4.05 £4.25 £4.50 £1.95 £14.75
Cunard £4.23 £4.80 £5.33 £1.78 £16.14
Princess Cruises £3.52 £4.97 £5.86 £1.42 £15.77
Royal Caribbean £4.94 £7.11 £7.28 £2.31 £21.64

Hi Angela, many Greenland cruises set sail alongside ports in Northern Europe and the Polar Regions. You can find all of our sailings which may include Greenland ports here. As you’re looking for a single passenger, our prices show as travelling as a pair, so I’d recommend calling our Cruise Concierge team for accurate prices on cruises involving Greenland. You can reach them on 0808 1234 118, and they will be happy to help you. Thanks, Emma.
