MSC Seaview is a new addition to the MSC Cruises fleet, joining the cruise line in June 2018. She is the second ship to join the Seaside-Class, after MSC Seaside which set sail at the end of 2017.

Our Managing Director, Alison Earnshaw had a recent holiday on-board MSC Seaview to explore and enjoy her facilities, food and fun-filled entertainment for herself. Read on to see what she thought of this innovative new addition to the seas.

Initial impressions

MSC Seaview is an impressive new ship, which evokes a glamorous and contemporary style as soon as you step on-board. There is lots of outdoor space including bars and restaurants where you can drink and dine outside. These include the Aurea Bar, strictly for Aurea Experience guests, where you can enjoy a variety of frozen cocktails as well as a dip in the outdoor pool!

Both the gym and spa are spacious, with plenty of relaxing treatments available, as well as the fantastic Spa Wellness Area and Medi-Spa Center where there is a sauna, hydrotherapy jet pools and thalassotherapy.

Central Atrium - MSC Seaview

One thing which really stood out to me was the central atrium. This is a fantastic venue for entertainment and perfect for people-watching! The atrium is spread over four decks, creating a multi-level, glass-walled hub for guests to enjoy spectacular ocean views and live entertainment.

Life on-board

Accommodation

With five categories of accommodation to pick from, MSC Seaview has something for everyone and to suit every budget on-board.

MSC Seaview - Yacht Club Suite - MSC Cruises

There are the standard Interior, Ocean View, Balcony and Suite staterooms, alongside cabins for families where up to ten people can sleep; as well as the three MSC Yacht Club Suites – MSC Yacht Club Interior Suite, MSC Yacht Club Deluxe Suite and MSC Yacht Club Royal Suite.

MSC Yacht Club

The concept of MSC Yacht Club is one of a ‘ship within a ship’, offering exclusive access to bars, restaurants and other areas around the ship. There is a separate pool and sundeck space with an outdoor grill serving breakfast and lunch.

The Yacht Club is the perfect exclusive experience, complete with secluded venues, butler service and gourmet cuisine. Just some of the services you can expect with MSC Yacht Club include dedicated priority check-in and out; unlimited drinks in MSC Yacht Club venues and your mini-bar; complimentary access to the Thermal Suite and MSC Aurea Spa; and free-time dining at dedicated restaurants.

MSC Yacht Club exclusive area on-board MSC Seaview

There’s a separate check-in and check-out service, as well as a concierge service making the whole experience seamless. I would definitely recommend this upgrade for the exclusive access and sense of feeling special. The supplementary costs to upgrade to this experience aren’t usually that high!

Dining

MSC Seaview has a three restaurant dining package which I would highly recommend! It’s The Trio – Three distinct dining experiences package which gives you the opportunity to sample three speciality restaurants with a set menu. You can also add to this set menu with other choices from the main menu at a 50% discount per item.

Butcher's Cut Steakhouse - MSC Seaview

The three restaurants were the Butcher’s Cut Steakhouse, the Ocean Cay Seafood Restaurant and Chef Yamaguchi’s Asian Market.

The Butcher’s Cut Steakhouse is a stylish steakhouse serving prime cuts alongside delicious dishes. Ocean Cay Seafood Restaurant offers some of the freshest ingredients to create mouthwatering fish dishes, all complemented by a sublime wines. The Pan Asian Market Kitchen is designed alongside award-winning Chef Roy Yamaguchi offering an unforgettable culinary experience.

Each of the restaurants allowed me to fully indulge my culinary senses with a three course meal at each dining location.

My personal favourite was the Asian Market, with a great choice of freshly-rolled sushi, meat and fish dishes. It’s a perfect fusion of Hawaiian and Japanese – which Chef Yamaguchi has mastered. That being said, steakhouses are reliably good on-board cruise ships and the Butcher’s Cut was no exception.

Final verdict

MSC Seaview is a worthy addition to the MSC Cruises fleet, with a sensational range of restaurants, comfortable staterooms for all and a line-up of entertainment to keep you happy from day to night.

For those looking to book, the MSC Yacht Club is something I’d definitely recommend, offering a whole new range of exclusive experiences to MSC Cruises. With uninterrupted access to bars, restaurants and other areas around the ship, as well as butler service, exclusive restaurants and plenty more benefits, it really makes you feel special on-board.

MSC Seaview - MSC Cruises ship

She is an impressive ship, with a glamorous flair throughout – seen mostly in the grand central atrium which was my favourite place to sit, relax and watch people as they enjoy their time on-board.

Lovely ship and enjoyed our cruise however MSc has increased no of main dining sittings to 3 which has reduced the amount of time available for a leisurely dinner. No time for coffee or post dinner drinks in fact dining room lighting is increased when your time is up.
