I’ve just returned from a family holiday sailing on-board Enchanted Princess and visiting some of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful ports and cities. This was a memorable holiday and I’d like to share some of my insights and highlights of my trip. I travelled with my husband and 12-year-old daughter and Princess Cruises had enough activities to keep us all occupied and entertained whilst on-board.

First Impressions of Enchanted Princess

Enchanted Princess is one of the latest ships to join the Princess Cruises fleet, having only been sailing since 2021. Part of the Royal-class of ships, Enchanted Princess is full of world-class entertainment and one-of-a-kind dining experiences that myself and my family loved. I felt relaxed from the moment I stepped aboard, you could see everything was running like clockwork with us on-board and checked-in to our stateroom within minutes, leaving us to relax with a drink and lunch in the piazza.

First-class entertainment and dining

The theatre productions were some of the best I have seen at sea and we were all impressed, so much so we saw two of the shows twice! I’d highly recommend Spotlight Bar and Rock Opera, the amazing vocalists and dancers were like something straight off the West End.

Princess Cruises also offer enrichment talks featuring information about the countries and ports visited, some great quiz games and competitions that were family-friendly and even an 80’s pool party one evening. This was a fun night for all ages!

There were numerous options for dining, with included and speciality restaurants. The menus in the main dining room changed each night with highlights being the Land & Sea evening with lobster and fillet steak served. We also ate in Gigi’s Pizzeria when we wanted a less formal evening and The Crown Grill, Princess Cruises’ steak house. This was a highlight with great food accompanied by attentive service. We were also fortunate enough to be invited to the 360 Dining Experience. This was a unique evening where just 20 guests were treated to fine wines and delicacies from across the Mediterranean. A treat for all the senses where the use of immersive visual content transports you to new destinations. An evening not to be missed and a real highlight of our trip. I have shared a few photos but don’t want to spoil any of the surprises!

We experienced some new destinations

As well as the more frequently visited ports of Civitavecchia, Marseille and Naples where we visited Pompeii, our 14-night itinerary included some new destinations. We visited Gibraltar, Mykonos and a highlight was Istanbul. This is a fascinating city and somewhere I would love to return to. We took the Princess Cruises excursion to visit the Süleymaniye Mosque and the Grand Bazaar and this was a great way to get a first view of the city. We ended our cruise in Athens, with a day at a beach club to enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea. It was a lovely way to end a great holiday!
