I’ve recently spent four nights on-board Royal Caribbean’s stunning Oasis-class ship, Symphony of the Seas, sailing from Barcelona to Rome to learn all about this fantastic ship. This was my first time cruising with Royal Caribbean and I have to admit, it won’t be the last time I cruise with them.

Although I have been on a couple of cruises previously with my family, stepping aboard Symphony of the Seas was an awe-inspiring experience. The ship’s sheer size was amazing to take in, and with its modern décor and welcoming staff, I was excited to make this my home for a few days.

I stayed in a balcony stateroom which was very spacious, offering plenty of storage for a family of four, or two people who like plenty of wardrobe variety when on holiday. With the turn-down service each evening, the towels folded into animal shapes were always a delight to come back to after an evening spent enjoying delicious cuisine and enjoying jaw-dropping entertainment.

The ship is full of plenty of buzz and excitement, walking along the Promenade there was always something happening, from the sail away party with balloons, to live musicians providing the perfect musical backdrop for the evening.

The dining offerings available on-board are plentiful; I thoroughly enjoyed the Windjammer for breakfast and lunch, which offered plenty of variety including delectable Italian pizzas and Indian cuisine and catered to different dietary requirements. The staff are very friendly and welcoming on-board, greeting you with a smile and were always happy to help. In the main dining room, you are able to experience a 3-course meal offering different flavours depending on the port you visit.

When it comes to entertainment on-board, you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice. We watched Hairspray the musical which was a personal highlight, if I had time I would have watched it again! After the show, we enjoyed cocktails at the Rising Tide bar, where you can experience being lifted from the Royal Promenade to Central Park.

At the aqua theatre, Hiro performed with amazing acrobatics and extraordinary stunts. We also managed to see the ice skating show and in Studio B the show was very unique.

This ship is packed with plenty of activities and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, it’s the perfect offering for a variety of tastes.
