Step aboard Celebrity Silhouette for unrivalled relaxation and extraordinary fine dining as she sails to the Norwegian Fjords for an eight-night sailing with our Performance Analyst, Lia George. See what she thought of her time on-board and explore the Norwegian Fjords with Celebrity Cruises.

Initial impressions

I was welcomed with a glass of bubbly and friendly crew members. Embarkation was smooth and extremely quick, moving straight on to the ships after checking in – great start!

As we walked in, I was directed to decks 4 and 5 where all of the shops, cafes, and bars are located which are breathtaking. Staff were there to welcome you every step aboard the ship, which was lovely.

The decor was clean, modern and stylish, with warm colours throughout as well as a touch of class and sparkle.

Life on-board

Accommodation

I stayed in a Balcony stateroom, which was exactly as expected from pictures I’d seen. There was plenty of space to unpack, an extremely large and comfortable bed, a big flatscreen TV, seating area and a balcony with two loungers and a table.

There was also a lovely make-up area and plenty of mirrors. The ensuite shower had a glass screen rather than a shower curtain, which was a bonus! Overall, I was very happy with the cabin.

Entertainment and Activities

We did a ship galley tour on the first sea day and go to explore the kitchen, speciality restaurants and meet all of the chefs. This trip is completely complimentary and well worth doing, it’s really interesting and the staff are just lovely.

We also went to the silent disco, which was absolutely fantastic! The Entertainments Manager, DJ and Cruise Director even had a competition. It was a brilliant atmosphere, with hundreds of people singing, dancing and drinking for hours across three decks. Definitely a highlight.

Dining and drinks

We had the classic drinks package included but upgraded to the Premium Drinks Package on the first day. The Martini Bar on deck 4 was our second home – the drinks, staff and vibes you got there were to die for! We made really good friends with the bartenders who were great at making you off-menu cocktails that you would love! They were chatty and engaging and just great fun – many of them were extremely talented at what they did.

The food on the buffet was excellent, with a great choice and variety at all times of the day. The best meal we had on-board was in the Tuscan Grill – what an experience! The food was exceptional, the waiter was a sweetheart and the views over the wake of the ship was just incredible. We would go back there time and time again.

We also got shown the new Le Petit Chef, which was amazing to see and we will definitely be dining here on our next cruise!

Service

The service during our cruise was great, someone was always on hand for anything you could ever want. The staff clearly knew how to act with different types of people and ensure all guests received the service they wanted. Staff would have a laugh with us and make us feel really comfortable at every point. The main thing to say is that even though everyone was extremely attentive, they knew when to come over and check up on you without bugging you.

Overall experience

Absolutely fantastic cruise ship and spectacular itinerary. I would 100% sail on Silhouette again, we even booked on-board for a cruise on Celebrity Summit, which we are very much looking forward to! Great cruise, great staff and great ship. We loved every second of it.

Hi Elaine, all of Celebrity Cruises’ ships which sail from the UK have tea and coffee making facilities in their cabins. Thanks, Emma.
