Introducing the OceanMedallion

A small circular wearable device called the OceanMedallion is the heart of your voyage when on-board a Princess MedallionClass cruise. Free to all guests, the OceanMedallion can be worn inside your complimentary lanyard, or can be displayed inside an OceanTide sustainable accessory of your choice, made from 100% recycled coastline plastics, available for purchase. This piece of innovative technology simplifies your cruising experience by allowing you to be in control of many specialised features, such as services on-demand direct to you when located anywhere on-board, connect with and locate members of your party on-board, interactive gaming and informative facilities throughout the ship, the greatest Wi-Fi at sea, and much more!

Safety Measure Benefits with OceanMedallion

As a result of essential COVID-19 health and safety requirements, the OceanMedallion’s advanced ground-breaking features provide the contactless on-board experience guests desire, from the moment they embark on their Princess cruise.

  • Efficient staggered check-in/boarding without waiting amongst other passengers
  • Keyless stateroom entry, as a result of sensor device recognition upon approach
  • Contactless payment access throughout the ship, reducing the need for cash/card handling
  • Ability to order any food, beverages or shopping goods to guests exact location, minimising the need to queue at checkouts and supporting social distancing on another level
  • Live updates of dining and entertainment availability accessible through the MedallionClass app, allowing social distancing guidelines to be adhered to
  • Enhanced guest service – Chat function available to talk to guest services without queuing at their location
  • Contact tracing

These health and safety features within your OceanMedallion highlight the personal, yet safe, services available when travelling on MedallionClass ships with Princess Cruises. This ground-breaking technology has revolutionised health and safety regulations on-board cruise lines through contactless experience, giving customers that peace of mind that safety is the number one priority.

Dine My Way

Princess Cruises have recently released Dine My Way, a new flexible feature within MedallionClass sailings. This enhanced attribute allows guests to specifically tailor their dining experiences on-board, offering the freedom of decision making from your device.

Benefits of using Dine My Way include the opportunity to view and select their preferred dining location choice from the options on-board, as well as specifying preferred seating within the chosen dining venue. Edits are easily managed through Dine My Way, customising reservations regarding whom is dining, preferred dining times, alerting any allergens or dietary preferences, and viewing any wait times for restaurant locations without the hassle of directly going there.

“We believe guests are going to love the control and customisation Dine My Way offers. Instead of restricting dining choices during the pandemic, we’ve been able to expand the options for our guests and thanks to the unique, innovative capabilities of the OceanMedallion, reduce wait times and eliminate the need to stand in line”, Princess Cruises president, Jan Swartz.

Also located on the MedallionClass app is OceanNow, a convenient service allowing guests to order food and beverages to their location wherever they are on the ship from the entire OceanNow on demand menu. This service prevents unnecessary queueing, enforcing safety measures, whilst creating a more personal experience for the guest with less hassle!
