Celebrity Cruises has announced plans to offer a handful of Signature Event Cruises, creating itineraries to coincide with some of the world’s most iconic events, from the Cannes Film Festival to the Rio Carnival, so guests can experience them first-hand whilst in port. All of these exciting thematic itineraries will include a range of fabulous shore excursions as well as on-board programming. Read on to learn more about each of Celebrity’s Signature Event Cruises scheduled for 2015 and 2016.

100th Anniversary of ANZAC Day at Gallipoli

Renowned historian, World War 1 and 2 author and keynote speaker Peter Donovan will be aboard the Celebrity Constellation to give fascinating presentations as it sails on a 12 night round-trip from Rome on the 22nd April 2015, calling at the port of Canakkale on the 25th for the 100th anniversary of ANZAC Day at Gallipoli. The Dawn Service – which commemorates the Australians and New Zealanders who gave their lives for freedom – will be broadcast on the ship, followed by a special on-board service.

Redentore Festival

Redentore FestivalOn the 5th July 2015, the Celebrity Constellation will set sail on a 14 night voyage from Istanbul en route to Venice, where on the 18th July guests will celebrate the wonderful Redentore Festival. Guests can enjoy a poolside celebration of Redentore, where Venetian masquerade ball will meet classic rock and roll for a unique and exciting event. In addition, Redentore party favours will be provided by the cruise line. This party is definitely going to be one to remember!

Cannes Film Festival

The Celebrity Equinox will host a special Cannes Film Festival events cruise, sailing from Barcelona to Rome for 10 nights on the 11th May 2015, docking in Cannes for the festival on the 13th and 14th May. Guests on-board will enjoy the screening of an array of movies from Cannes Film Festival winners throughout the voyage as part of an on-board mini film festival. Film historians will also give interesting live presentations to travellers whilst at sea.

British Open

Famous golf professional and 2007 British Open contender Steve Parry will join the Celebrity Silhouette on its 12 night round-trip from Amsterdam on the 15th July to share his world-class knowledge and experience with guests. As well as docking in Edinburgh for the competition on the 18th and 19th July, guests will also enjoy several events hosted by Parry himself, including outings to five stunning golf courses and special VIP events alongside group and individual golf lessons for both kids and adults.

Chinese New Year

The 31st January 2016 will see Celebrity Millennium embark on a 14 night round-trip from Singapore, calling in Hong Kong on the 8th February to celebrate Chinese New Year in style. This Signature Events Cruise will feature a number of special performances from authentic Shaolin Monks, Tai Chi demonstrations and Buddhism 101 presentations from distinguished author Marshall Stern.

Rio Carnival

Embarking the 31st January 2016, the Celebrity Infinity will sail on a round-trip from Buenos Aires,Rio Carnival stopping in Rio de Janeiro from the 7th to the 9th of February, just in time for the amazing Rio Carnival. This incredible cruise will feature performances and instructional classes from professional samba dancers Fernando and Nayara, as well as a special on-board Latin-inspired party, where you can grab a mojito, dance the night away and prepare yourself for the Rio Carnival.
