Renowned British cruise line Cruise & Maritime Voyages have announced the introduction of a new ship, due to join the fleet in 2015. The ship, which has been named Azores, will replace Discovery and join the elegant Marco Polo and Astor, sailing to exotic and iconic ports across the world.
Original constructed in 1994 as a transatlantic ocean liner, the ship was stripped down to her hull before being restored during a $150 million renovation and rebuilt into an elegant and contemporary premium cruise ship.
Azores has been described as an alluring and intimate cruise vessel, carrying a total of 550 passengers per voyage across 277 cabins. The majority of cabins on-board boast spectacular ocean views and all private en suite accommodation comes equipped with a bathroom and shower, hairdryer, personal safe, refrigerated mini bar and a television with a host of movie, news and information channels. Twin bedded, double bedded and designated single cabins are all available on-board, or for a more luxurious stay, guests can opt for opulent and spacious de luxe cabins, junior suites, balcony suites and owner’s presidential suites.
She will also hold a fantastic range of features and facilities across her eight passenger decks, including the impressive Olissipo Restaurant, which offers both formal and buffet-style dining. Other fabulous on-board venues include a choice of five marvellous bars and lounges, including the Calypso Show Lounge which will host the vessel’s excellent entertainment. Also on-board will be a nightclub, shopping boutique, cinema, casino, library, card room, photo shop, outdoor swimming pool and a health and fitness centre with massage and spa facilities.
In 2015, Azores will operate a number of exciting itineraries, voyaging to destinations across Northern Europe and the Mediterranean.
