Enjoy a culinary cruise with Cunard

Cunard 175th anniversary

You’re probably aware of Cunard’s reputation as a quintessentially refined cruise line, classically British and offering you the chance to relive the golden age of cruising as you enjoy some of the finest cuisine at sea, the most attentive service and some of the most timeless cruise itineraries.

Now, the line has combined both its Britishness and its love of fine food with the announcement of the Queen Elizabeth’s first ever culinary voyage, the British Isles Culinary Discovery. Despite the fact that we live in Britain (or at least, most of us do) there’s plenty about our classic dishes that we don’t know and even when it comes to the ones that we do, there’s nothing quite like sampling them in gourmet style.

This 23 June-5 July 2016 cruise brings the Queen Elizabeth’s own expert chefs, sommeliers and of course celebrated White Star service together with a number of expert names from the world of food and drink, including celebrated Scottish chef Nick Nairn and colourful TV wine critic Jilly Goolden, on a mouth-watering voyage around the British Isles to sample a little of everything that’s good about some of Blighty’s favourite dishes.

Perhaps owing to the presence of Nairn, the round-trip voyage from Southampton features a number of Scottish ports, namely South Queensferry, which is your gateway to Edinburgh, Invergordon, Kirkwall, Stornoway and Greenock. Northern Ireland’s capital Belfast is also on your itinerary as are Liverpool and St Peter’s Port Guernsey.

Things get started with a traditional British sailaway and a Taste of Britain embarkation buffet, then throughout the voyage, expect talks, cooking demonstrations, food and wine pairings and themed dinners. Once ashore, you can look forward to gastronomic tours, afternoon teas and whiskey tastings, offering you an authentic taste of local cultures around the British Isles.

If all this talk of cruising cuisine has your taste buds tingling, call our dedicated Cruise Concierge team today to book your place on board on 0808 1234 118. Alternatively, we always have an excellent collection of Cunard cruises on offer, whenever you want to sail.
