In what is sure to be great news for cruisers who are planning on travelling with very young children, Italian line MSC Cruises has recently announced some great new features on selected vessels, in association with leading Italian baby care specialists, Chicco.
A great range of childcare equipment and toys is set to be on offer on-board, with strollers, baby backpacks and bottle-warmers also being made available to young families wishing to embark on shore excursions.
Cruisers with very young families need not worry about knowing where everything is or how to get hold of any equipment, as they’ll receive a copy of the Baby Globetrotter; a printed guide which will give them the lowdown and also keep them informed as to when and where on-board club activities and games will take place. The guide will also serve as a handy kids menu guide and will cover any other child-related on-board services.
Throughout the developments, MSC Cruises has also worked closely with Chicco Observatory, a research lab which specialises in children under three years of age and has called on the manufacturer’s expertise to help it offer speciality training for childcare employees working on MSC ships.
An MSC spokesman explained a little more about the line’s relationship with Chicco, saying: “The well-being of babies is at the heart of the partnership and everything has been thought of in order to help parents handle the schedule of a baby’s day: feeding, napping, changing and all other necessities.”
If you’re planning to cruise with one or more very young children, you’ll be pleased to know that both MSC Armonia or MSC Lirica are set to have infant play areas built aboard, as are the line’s two forthcoming mega ships, set to hit the ocean waves in 2017 and 2018.
