Why fly to another country to embark when you could begin your cruise in the UK? With British sailings coming up in 2015 on some incredible new ships, it’s never been easier to enjoy a cruise holiday – especially if you’re thinking about booking your first one.
We’ve got a great choice of new ships sailing from the UK next year:
Anthem of the Seas
Royal Caribbean’s new ship sets sail from the UK next year, heading out of Southampton to cruise destinations in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and the Caribbean. And if you’re familiar with Royal Caribbean’s ships, you’ll know that they trade in industrial quantities of good times.
The Anthem of the Seas has a 360° viewing capsule that stretches up 300ft above the ship. It’s got dodgems. You may have heard about Royal’s surf simulators and climbing walls on deck, but what about a skydiving simulator? Where some ships offer a dance floor, the Anthem gives you an entire music hall. Where some ships give you a stage, the Anthem gives you the enormous Two70 venue, with panoramic views during the day and theatre performances at night when the windows transform into a digital backdrop.
With more kids’ entertainment and activities than you could shake a Dreamworks character at, and a great choice of voyages from Southampton in 2015, Royal Caribbean are about to make the arrow shake dangerously into the red on Britain’s fun-o-meter. Anthem cruises are on sale today – so give our Cruise Concierge team a call free on 0808 1234 118 to book or find out more.
Royal Princess
Princess Cruises’ new ship the Royal Princess was launched by the Duchess of Cambridge in June 2013 – and we both know that Kate Middleton wouldn’t launch a cruise ship unless it had a serious sense of style. It’s the kind of vessel that’ll be ridiculously hard to leave come the end of your voyage.
Some say that passengers will stand mesmerised in the towering golden atrium for hours on end. Some say that the ultra-stylish Lotus Spa could leave guests so relaxed that they barely make it out onto the deck for Movies Under the Stars. Grown men and women about to disembark may have to be dragged kicking and screaming like children from the relaxing white loungers of the Sanctuary.
There are restaurants on this ship where you’d half expect to see Gatsby lifting a cocktail glass, old sport. It’s got a fitness centre that looks better than some you’d have to pay membership for. And, best of all, it’s sailing from the UK in 2015.
P&O Britannia
Up there against the Royal Princess and the Anthem of the Seas is P&O’s spectacular new ship the Britannia, also sailing from Southampton in 2015. It’s one of the most beautiful ships we’ve ever seen… and we see a lot of ships.
The Britannia is the biggest ship ever built exclusively for the UK market. It features the combined culinary power of celebrity kitchen maestros James Martin, Marco Pierre White, Eric Lanlard and Atul Kochhar – along with the wine-based wisdom of Olly Smith. You could even take cookery classes from the masters during your time on board. This ship is entertainment central – you can see huge theatre performances in the Limelight Club, discover new music in the Live Lounge, or even take part in live game shows in the ship’s studio. This ship couldn’t be more British if it was flying a hundred-metre Union Jack. Oh wait, it is…
Heading to the fjords, the western Mediterranean and Europe’s Atlantic coast in 2015, the Britannia combines some industry-leading design and facilities with a concentrated dose of Britishness.
