If you’re reading this blog, then there’s a chance you already know about the new ‘123go’ campaign from Celebrity Cruises. If you don’t, then the most important thing to remember is that it involves lots of great free stuff after you’ve booked your cruise and even better, you get to decide exactly what you want. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t like free stuff? It doesn’t matter which cruise you choose and the offer’s valid until the end of February next year, so there’s plenty of time to decide.
Just one of the things Celebrity Cruises is offering is a free on-board spend (there’s that magic word again). But what does this mean? Well, though you’ll already have paid for your cruise up-front, as you’ll know if you’ve been on a cruise before it’s just like any other holiday and you’re going to need some spending money. Now, to help me explain, let’s pretend you’re asking me some questions. If you are in fact asking me questions, even better.
How much will I have to spend?
300 dollars if you’re on a cruise which lasts 10 nights or longer. If you’re sailing’s a slightly shorter one you’ll still get an impressive 200 dollars to play with, while mini cruisers won’t miss out either, as if you’re sailing for between three and five days you’ll still receive 100 dollars.
Why dollars?
Like many cruise lines, with Celebrity Cruises, the currency on the ship is always in dollars. It’s sort of a universal currency to keep things simple.
What can I buy?
Now, here’s the fun part, because it’s entirely up to you. Though there’s an impressive choice of dishes available in the ship’s main dining room, if you want to feel extra special for one night (or indeed, two) why not treat yourself to a meal in one of your ship’s speciality restaurants? Of course, the perfect accompaniment to good food is good drink and here’s another area where your on-board spend could come in really handy. Even if you only enjoy an occasional tipple, when you’re on holiday, the drinks bill can soon mount up, so having some extra spending money to help you keep on top of the bar tab is always a good idea.
With Celebrity Cruises, shopping isn’t just about picking up a ship-themed souvenir, though of course, there’s plenty of opportunity to do that if you want. If you’re the type of cruiser who likes nothing more than a spot of retail therapy, then you won’t want to miss out on the chance to spend your free cash in one of your ship’s boutiques. From fun gadgets and fancy fragrances to classy fashion accessories and duty free favourites, the choice is yours.
As well as exploring amazing destinations, cruises should be about unwinding a little too, so if you like a flutter but don’t want to commit too much of your own hard-earned, then taking some of your free on-board spend with you to the casino could be an excellent idea. On the other hand, if a pampering spa treatment or two is how you most like to relax, then there’s an excellent choice of signature treatments available, too.
So there you have it, plenty of inspiration to get you started. How you spend your free money is entirely up to you!
