Disney’s Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with Veranda
Disney Cruise Line really has set the bar when it comes to catering for families, and this includes their Family Oceanview Staterooms. This richly appointed suite offers space, luxury and comfort throughout and is perfect for families of five. You can expect a Queen-size bed, a convertible sofa, an upper berth pull-down bed and two bathrooms with a rain style shower. The private veranda features a comfortable seating area and the doors have child locks to provide safety. Your children will love the mural of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and Wendy decorated upon the ceiling of their bedroom, just as much as you will love the ultra-luxurious H20 spa, bath and shower products in your private bathroom.
The room is decorated with a nautical theme and original artwork to give it that extra special Disney touch. A concierge stateroom means a concierge service and with that you get treated to seating preferences at dinner, port adventures, spa treatments, nursery stay reservations and assistance with all special requests.
Royal Caribbean Suite/Deluxe Stateroom
Perfect if you are travelling with teens who want their own space, these new loft suites are multi-level accommodation offering spectacular views with floor-to-ceiling windows. You can enjoy a master bedroom and a private bathroom, a guest room with a private bathroom and an outdoor dining and lounge area which seats four, so you and your family can watch the sunrise whilst eating breakfast, all in the privacy of your own home.
What’s more, guests booked on the grand suite on Oasis and Allure can look forward to the ‘Concierge Club’ which includes access to an extensive library of DVD’s and CD’s – perfect for entertaining the younger pirates. Continental breakfast, pre-dinner cocktails, behind the scenes tours and reservation seating at the pool and in the main theatre is also available.
NCL Family Balcony Staterooms
The NCL family staterooms accommodate up to four, with two lower beds that convert to a queen, one upper bed and a sofa bed. You can expect feature curved walls, a uniquely decorated bathroom, including the shower and a modern vanity sink, plus a private balcony where you and your family can enjoy beautiful ocean views. These rooms also boast the signature Epic bath design with a lot more storage space and much-needed room to move about.
Some extra little touches that you can expect are in-room refrigerators and the Cartoon Channel, perfect to keep your youngsters entertained. You can also purchase a ‘Bedtime Kit’ which includes a SpongeBob cinch bag, Nickelodeon themed bed throws, pillowcases, flameless candle nightlights, storybooks, sunglasses, toothbrushes, cups and splash balls.
Princess Family Suite with balcony
Each suite is two self-contained staterooms interconnecting through a large living room which leads to an oversized private balcony perfect for you and your family to enjoy ocean views whilst you eat your breakfast. This is the ideal room for families, with two separate sleeping areas and separate bathrooms providing practicality and comfort. The rooms have twin beds which can be pushed together to create a queen-size bed and the bathrooms are spacious enough for you to store all of your belongings.
You can take advantage of free cots and baby food and your children will love the chocolates given at turndown service. Children’s programmes are available on your in-stateroom television including Cartoon Network and Boomerang and there are family-friendly films shown daily, to keep you all entertained.
P&O Family Suite
P&O’s family-friendly ships accommodate for families well and if you are looking for a little bit more space then choosing a Suite would be the perfect choice. This roomy Suite offers two lower beds that convert to a king, a bathroom with a shower above a whirlpool bath, a DVD player and a balcony with a table and reclining chairs.
Other perks for staying in a Family Suite include; mineral water, a fruit basket, chocolates, bathrobes and slippers for you and balloons and bed covers for your children. In addition to all this, they will even be given their very own atlas and binoculars, so they can feel like true sailors during their time on board.
Beat the crowds and book yours early…
With so many families cruising during the school holidays and a limited number of cabins on these ships, it comes as no surprise that these staterooms book up fast. The best advice I can give is to always book early. With these family friendly cabins being so popular and not enough to go round, you wouldn’t want to miss out on your perfect family cabin, would you?
