Following the recent news regarding the collapse of Thomas Cook on Monday 23 September, there is sure to be many questions surrounding the topic. If you’re affected by cancelled holidays or looking to see what you need to do next, please read our FAQs below to help provide some further answers.

I have booked by holiday with Thomas Cook. What shall I do now?

As of Monday 23 September, Thomas Cook has ceased trading. All holidays and flights provided by this company has therefore been cancelled and are no longer operating. The Government and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) are now working together to do everything they can to support passengers due to fly back to the UK with Thomas Cook between 23 September 2019 and 6 October 2019. Depending on your location, this will be either on CAA-operated flights or by using existing flights with other airlines.

I have booked by holiday with Cruise118.com, but my flights with Thomas Cook? Do I need to reschedule?

No. We are in the process of getting in touch with all our customers affected by Thomas Cook. We will rearrange suitable flights for our customers in all cases and ensure that they can continue with their holiday plans.

Is my ATOL certificate still valid?

Yes. ATOL (Air Travel Organisers Licence) is a scheme which protects customers if a travel company they have booked with stops trading. This prevents customers from being stranded abroad or out of pocket. Customers who have booked their flights alongside their cruise with Cruise118.com will recieve communication from our Cruise Concierge regarding rescheduled flights. If you have booked flights independently to your Cruise118.com booking, you will need to refer back to your ATOL certificate to claim for a refund via the ATOL scheme.

I’m currently abroad, what do I do?

For the next two weeks, the CAA and British Government are working together to arrange repatriation flights for all British citizens who are stranded. There will be new flights provided for you to return to the UK. Depending on your location, these may differ from your original time and location, but the CAA are aiming to arrange these as close to these as possible.

I am due to go on holiday with Thomas Cook, do I go to the airport?

If you are due to depart from a UK airport with Thomas Cook, please do not travel to the airport as your flight will not be operating and will not be able to travel. The CAA’s repatriation programme will not include any outbound flights from the UK.
