Hot on the heels of being presented with the title of Best Cruise Line at the UK Cruise Awards 2014 – one of the most respected honours in the cruise industry – Princess Cruises has revealed part of its forthcoming 50th anniversary celebrations.
The line can toast this recent awards success and indeed, its forthcoming 50th anniversary, with a special beer, brewed especially to mark this cruising milestone. The Seawitch West Coast IPA is named after the cruise line’s logo and was brewed exclusively for Princess Cruises with the help of the Strike Brewing Company.
The beer is set to make its debut on the line’s newest vessel, Regal Princess, as the ship will host the anniversary celebrations, but is set to be available in bars across the line’s fleet throughout 2015. There are also other beers waiting in the pipes, with the names set to represent a number of popular destinations which the fleet visits.
Ale enthusiasts will be interested to know that the beer, according to its brewer, features: “The balanced aroma of lightly roasted malt and barley, which is strongly accented by the crisp dry flavour of a unique hop blend.”
Princess Cruises will officially launch its anniversary celebrations at the naming ceremony for Regal Princess on 5 November, when the original cast of The Love Boat – which was filmed on-board Princess ships – will name the vessel in Florida’s Fort Lauderdale.
