Can we invite guests aboard whilst at port?

In the case of the majority of lines, you are not permitted to invite guests on-board while your ship is docked. However, if you are visiting a particular port of call where friends or family live, some of the luxury cruise lines which operate smaller vessels may let you invite them on-board for a drink but you should always mention your intention to meet friends/family at a port in advance to your Cruise Concierge, who will be able to check with the line you intend to travel with if it is possible.
