Five wins for Fred. Olsen at UK Cruisers’ Choice Awards

Fred Olsen cruises

When it comes to capturing the essence of small-ship British cruising, nobody does it quite like Fred.Olsen and indeed, the UK-based line has built on its already strong reputation by scooping no fewer than five trophies at the recent UK Cruisers’ Choice Awards.

As you’ve probably guessed from their title, the UK Cruisers’ Choice Awards are not the preserve of industry specialists and are based entirely on review ratings from guests who’ve experienced Fred. Olsen’s ships first-hand by booking a cruise.

Two of the vessels in the line’s popular fleet shared the awards, with Black Watch taking three in the ‘small ship’ category and Balmoral taking two in the ‘mid-size’ category. Black Watch came out on top with a full five out of five score in the Best for Service category and also took the trophy for the Best for Shore Excursions for the second year in a row, as well as Best for Value category. Balmoral kept the excursions winning streak going, taking the Mid-Size Best for Shore Excursions category and the Best Value for Money award too.

Fred. Olsen also made a number of appearances in other categories of the awards, with Black Watch coming in second in the Best Small Ship Overall award and Braemar coming in fourth in the same category. Balmoral also made a strong showing in the Best Mid-Size Ship Overall category, coming in third place. The line also chalked up 15 showings in the top five categories of other awards, rounding off what was an exceptional evening for Fred. Olsen.

Nathan Philpot, Fred. Olsen’s Sales and Marketing Director commented: “We are renowned for our ‘service with a smile’ on our smaller, more intimate ships, which is why 58 per cent of cruise guests choose to return to the ‘friendliest fleet afloat’ each year – one of the highest repeat rates within the travel industry. We would like to thank all those valued cruise guests who voted for Fred. Olsen and we look forward to welcoming you on board with us again in the very near future.”

If you’d like to try Fred. Olsen’s award-winning hospitality for yourself, we always have an excellent selection of cruises available, so when you’ve found yours, don’t hesitate to give our Cruise Concierge a call on 0808 1234 118 to book.
