Budding young chefs will be jumping for joy at the news MasterChef Juniors will be on-board their next MSC Cruise. The cruise line has launched a whole new offering for families across its fleet, following the implementation of the successful MasterChef at Sea programme which was introduced in 2017.
MasterChef at Sea on MSC Cruises
The initial programme was announced last year, revealing that the all-new partnership will bring the MasterChef brand on-board from summer 2017 in collaboration with the show’s producers, Endemol Shine Group.
This new addition will allow passengers aged five to twelve to take part in an exciting two-stage cooking competition, assisted by the ship’s Executive Chef who will help them create culinary masterpieces and learn some healthy cooking tips along the way!
The second part of the competition involves a mystery box challenge where twenty children are selected at random from the audience to participate. The chosen children are then given a box of ingredients and asked to create a special recipe which is then judged by a panel.
Families can support from the audience and cheer on their little ones, with plenty of prizes to be won throughout the show.
2013 MasterChef contestant and best-selling author, Rukmini Iyer has created the recipes, incorporating fresh and healthy ingredients and teaching passengers to practice useful cooking techniques such as grating, cutting and peeling.
Each participant will receive a MasterChef at Sea Juniors certificate at the end, as well as plenty of cooking tips and tricks!
Currently, the MasterChef Juniors programme is only available on-board MSC Seaview, with MSC Bellissima gaining the experience in March 2019 and the remaining fleet in June 2019.
Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises said:
“As a family-owned company, MSC Cruises has always put the needs of families and kids at the heart of the cruise experience and this latest announcement further demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing wide and diverse family entertainment. We are particularly proud to be extending our partnership with MasterChef to include the younger members of the family.
“We already offer a comprehensive schedule of activities around the clock for kids of all ages, but we have worked tirelessly with the producers of MasterChef to create an immersive experience that is fun and interactive.”
The extension of the MasterChef partnership fits with the cruise line’s wider strategy to collaborate with world-class experts and offer a varied experience to guests fleet-wide.
