If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you may remember that to celebrate St Patrick’s Day last month, I took a look at some of the acts who will be performing on our Irish Show Cruise 2014. If you didn’t see the last blog, the Irish Show Cruise, which has been specially chartered by Cruise118, takes place on Fred.Olsen’s Boudicca in December and calls at Amsterdam, Bruges (pictured above) and Hamburg and will give you the opportunity to explore some wonderful Christmas markets. During the voyage, many of Ireland’s top musical acts will be performing and because I didn’t have room last time, I thought I’d tell you about the rest of them in this blog.
Conal Gallen
Known as Ireland’s Ambassador of Humour thanks to an award bestowed upon him in Boston, USA by The Donegal Association, musical funnyman Conal Gallen has 17 albums to his name as well as a number of awards, television appearances and humorous hit singles. Derek Ryan
One of the Irish country music world’s brightest stars, Derek Ryan has been performing since he was a young boy. He grew up surrounded by music, as his family were all fans of traditional Irish music and began his musical career at 17 when he fronted the band D-side and signed to Warner Music London. With a number of hits and TV appearances to his name, he returned to his family country roots and now has four critically-acclaimed albums to his name and an army of loyal followers.
Robert Mizzell
Hailing all the way from Louisiana, USA, Robert Mizzell’s childhood dream was to be a country music star. After a stint serving in the US army and a number of different jobs in the US, fate took him to Ireland, where he began to make his childhood dream a reality. Since arriving in Ireland over 20 years ago, Robert has steadily made a name for himself on the Irish music scene and today is one of its most celebrated names, with extensive airplay and a busy touring schedule.

The band’s brand of American roots, Country Blues has garnered them both respect on the scene and a loyal following from their many fans.
Tickety Boo
Tickety Boo’s singer/guitarist John Boyd already has a long career as a Billy Connolly impersonator under his belt, but these days, he’s returned to his original love – music and performs together with his wife Deborah as Tickety Boo. Originally from Belfast, the duo combine vocals, guitars and comedy and continue to entertain audiences with their take on all kinds of music from the 1950s through to the 1990s.
Limelite
Irish country’s best new duo, Limelite’s John Feehan and Michael O’Grady have been performing together for over six years and were recently awarded the accolade of Best New Duo by Country and Irish Entertainment Magazine. By way of vocal, guitar and accordion, the duo cover a wide range of music during their shows, providing their own take on everything from Irish country to more up-tempo Showband numbers.
