MSC Seaside to sail on the sunny side

A rendering of MSC Seaside

Earlier this year, MSC announced its epic €5.1billion expansion strategy: The Seaside Class of ships. Sailing from Miami to the Caribbean, MSC Seaside has been designed for warmer climates, exploring the sunshine year-round. The stunning 5,179-passenger capacity ship is currently under construction, due to launch in November 2017, with a second Seaside class ship expected in May 2018. Her home will be the renovated terminal at Port Miami, marking a concerted effort by MSC to break into the American market and offer a unique European experience on the other side of the Atlantic.

All this news is incredibly exciting for the industry and passengers alike. However, what’s more interesting are the details that MSC has so far revealed about the new ships. We wanted to share this thrilling news with you, so read on to find out more.

The ships in the new Seaside fleet have been dubbed by some as ‘iPhone of the cruising industry’ for their innovative and creative design from renowned Italian shipbuilders, Fincantieri. The ship features a 360 degree promenade around the ship, which includes shops, bars and plenty of al fresco dining areas. As the ship will be in the Caribbean year-round, MSC has taken the wise decision to maximise outdoor space for passengers. On top of this, 72 per cent of the cabins on-board are balcony cabins, as well as the introduction of new suite types. Perfect for catching those rays!

The MSC Seaside will feature one of the most interactive waterparks available at sea, sure to excite adults and children alike. The unique ‘Slideboarding’ experience, a waterslide and an interactive video game, as well as high speed aquatubes which have transparent areas, so riders can view the ocean below them. For the younger cruisers, there is an active and colourful water play structure. Not forgetting those who don’t love being in the water, there is a ropes course between towers, rope bridges and slides – which passengers can enjoy whilst having a spectacular view of the sea.

Safe to say, we are dying to try out the new MSC Seaside when she launches! What are your thoughts? We’d love to know.

Watch this space for more details about the ship, as well as the first sailing releases. If you can’t wait that long, check out our website for the latest MSC deals.
