If you like to keep up with our blogs, you’ll already know that Princess Cruises has a new ship planned for 2017, following hot on the keels of the stylish and feature-packed duo Royal Princess and Regal Princess.
Indeed, work is now well underway on the new as yet unnamed Royal Class ship, with her keel-laying ceremony taking place back in July in Fincantieri shipyard. The ship is yet to boast many of the fantastic features which made Royal Princess and Regal Princess so popular, including the show-stopping multi-story atrium, the glass-bottomed SeaWalk which takes cruisers on a literal sea walk high over the ocean and 28 feet over the edge of the ship and the Princess Live! interactive studio.
Dining is also set to be a highlight on-board thanks to the presence of the Chef’s Table Luminiere. The clue’s in the name here, as this is a truly original private dining experience, where diners are surrounded by a curtain of light as they eat. Also, by the time the vessels takes to the waves, she’ll also benefit from the line’s recent culinary association with master chef Curtis Stone, with dining venues set to feature special Crafted by Curtis dishes.
The new ship will cater to 3,560 passengers, weigh 143,000 tons and will also boast signature public spaces such as the Movies Under the Stars cinema, a comprehensive selection of shops and boutiques. In what is great news for those who love to enjoy their own private view, 80 per cent of her staterooms will have balconies.
What features would you like to see on the new Princess ship? We’d love to know! If you can’t wait until the new ship sets sail, you’ll be pleased to know we have some fantastic Princess Cruise deals available.
