P&O Cruises’ new Caribbean tours

The beauty of St Kitts, ideal for a helicopter tour

What do you think of when you picture a port day in the Caribbean? If you’ve been before, how do you spend your day? Lounging on pristine beaches in quiet bays, surrounded by palm trees with turquoise waters lapping at your toes? Perhaps you think of rum cocktails in coconuts? You aren’t exactly wrong, as this is how many people choose to spend their Caribbean cruises, but there is so much more available.

Indeed, P&O Cruises has announced a selection of new tours that you can book as part of a Caribbean cruise to help you see more of the region, and try new things. It may be that these tours aren’t for you, and the whole reason you’ve booked a cruise in the Caribbean is to spend hours soaking up the rays on the sands, and that’s perfectly reasonable.

However you might look for more excitement, such as a Segway tour of a St Lucia nature trail with plenty of fantastic photo opportunities. There will still be time to play or poach on the sands at the end of your tour, but before that you’ll see a wealth of flora and fauna that is both fascinating and beautiful.

Or maybe you’d rather get below the surface. If you’re a diving enthusiast with enough experience you can take part in a Coral Restoration Dive, where you’ll help preserve the natural coral by recording data or removing predators. And then there’s the opposite to below the waters – above the lands in a helicopter. St Kitts is home to magnificent scenery, and the views from a flying tour are unrivalled.

These P&O tours are available on Caribbean cruises this year and in 2015, so don’t miss these truly amazing experiences.
