Bootleg Beatles
The Bootleg Beatles formed in 1979 and have headlined a number of large festivals and major venues in their own right as well as supporting musical legends such as Rod Stewart and David Bowie. Small venues and colleges became their regular haunts for getting their Beatles covers heard, until 1982 when they became the first ever western rock band to tour the USSR. Their concerts were soon selling out quickly, attracting crowds of over 10,000 people. Prior to the nineties, The Bootleg Beatles had performed concerts across India, Europe and the Far East. Nowadays the band enjoys great success, playing high profile gigs across the world, as well as aboard Fred.Olsen ships.
The Syd Lawrence Orchestra
Founded in 1967 by renowned trumpeter and arranger Syd Lawrence, the incredible Syd Lawrence Orchestra has been entertaining audiences in concert halls and theatres and on music festivals and TV shows all over Great Britain and Europe for over 40 years. Well-known for its thrilling blend of high tempo big band swing and traditional dance music, the orchestra’s repertoire ranges from the wartime classics of the legendary Glenn Miller to the popular songs of Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.
Tom O’Connor
Celebrated comedian Tom O’Connor shot to fame during the 1970’s and is perhaps best known for his winning stint on Opportunity Knocks, as well as appearances on TV series Wednesday At Eight and his own show The Tom O’Connor Show. Not only this, but O’ Connor was also invited to perform on the Royal Variety Performance and in 1977 was honoured by the series This is Your Life. As well as performing aboard Fred.Olsen’s ships, O’Connor has recently featured on a number of popular modern TV shows including Pointless, The Hairy Bikers, Loose Women and Come Dine With Me.
