There are plenty of cruise ships setting sail for their maiden voyage in 2019, each offering exclusive features and state-of-the-art facilities. With so many cruise ship launches on the horizon, here is a selection of vessels you can look forward to meeting in 2019.
MSC Bellissima
Sister-ship to MSC Meraviglia, MSC Bellissima will be launched in Southampton in early March. She is set to be the biggest ship ever to be christened in the UK. The ship will include a range of innovative features including the MSC for Me technology and an 80-metre-long LED dome over the two-deck inside promenade. There will be 20 bars on-board and ten restaurants, as well as two exclusive Cirque du Soleil shows.
Spectrum of the Seas
The fourth addition to Royal Caribbean’s Quantum Class, Spectrum of the Seas will feature bumper cars, a skydiving simulator and virtual balconies for interior rooms. The ship will focus on Asian itineraries and will be the biggest, newest and most expensive cruise ship sailing in Asia.
Spectrum of the Seas will set sail from Shanghai in June 2019, with innovative features including the virtual reality SkyPad, brand new Royal Caribbean addition – Star Moment, an energetic karaoke venue where guests can sing their favourite songs like stars. The popular Royal Caribbean favourites such as Two70, FlowRider and North Star will also be found on-board.
Spirit of Discovery
Saga’s first purpose-built ship for the British market, Saga’s Spirit of Discovery offers a balcony for every guest and choice of free speciality restaurants. Spirit of Discovery will launch on her maiden voyage in Summer 2019 with a capacity for just 999 guests – 100 cabins will also be specifically designed for solo travellers.
MSC Grandiosa
Another new addition for MSC Cruises, MSC Grandiosa will be the seventh largest cruise ship in terms of capacity when she sets sail in October 2019, offering cabins for almost 6,300 guests. Other features include a fine art museum and exclusive Cirque du Soleil performances, as well as a full-size bowling alley, F1 simulators and the Polar Aquapark – including three water slides, a Himalayan Bridge and a range of pools for kids of all ages to enjoy.
Norwegian Encore
Norwegian Encore is set to launch in Autumn 2019, as Norwegian Cruise Line’s most innovative and modern ship ever. Features include the two-storey Horizon Lounge, 180-degree Observation Lounge and stunning sanctuary at The Haven. The ship will also boast numerous dining venues, bars and lounges to enjoy some of the best entertainment, cuisine and experiences at sea.
Sky Princess
The fourth Royal Class ship, Sky Princess will include Princess Cruises’ signature features such as the three-deck Piazza atrium, Movies Under the Stars and balconies in 80% of the cabins on-board. Of the cabins, there will be the stunning new Sky Suites on-board Sky Princess, which include a 270-degree panorama throughout your voyage from your 700-square-foot balcony. The ship will also boast two deep-tank pools lined with sunken seating and an infinity-style Wakeview pool, as well as Princess Live! – a show of live acts and gatherings to keep guests entertained.
Carnival Panorama
Similar to Carnival Vista, Carnival Panorama offers enhanced features from previous cruise ships, as well as a number of unique innovations. This ship is set to offer the widest variety on-board – enabling guests to have the most fun wherever possible. Carnival have said the ship will be packing all the best, most delicious fun as seen on her sister-ships, Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon.
She will be sailing from Long Beach, California – the cruise line’s first brand-new ship to grace the port in 20 years!
